Hello friends.
It's Christmas week. Hohoho. One of the aspects of Christmas that we like is the Christmas tree!
The Christmas tree is about being comfortable with who you are and how you feel, about being open to sharing your experiences with others. The Christmas tree is about the joy of connecting to others and doing so with a sense of humor and gratitude. In many families, when the Christmas tree is brought in it's a time when the family gathers around the tree and shares their joys from the past year. The Christmas tree is a time when family bond, when it's okay to argue, but when the arguments happen it turns into a silly discussion about what happened in a funny way. It's a time when you can say anything and people will still love you for who you are because they know you love them back.
The symbolism of the Christmas tree goes back a long way, to around the time of Rome and Egypt when the pyramids were being built. Some people believed that pine bows would even ward away evil spirits and witches in the Middle Ages. In more modern times, it's a tradition that is linked with family. You pull out a box of ornaments you have collected throughout the years, then adorn the tree with these symbols of the past, remembering the times when you got them, joking and telling stories.
That all brings us to this Christmas week's Monday challenge. Let's have some fun with Christmas trees.
Today's challenge
Let's chop down a Christmas tree and toss some ornaments onto it.
There are 2 ways you can complete this holiday challenge.
Option 1 : Post a photo of your Christmas tree and tell us a little about it.
Option 2 : Use the supplied image below and decorate this tree with any ornaments that you like.
Both option 1 and option 2 are acceptable and will be considered valid.

This is our Christmas branch. Cut from a Yew tree outside. Growing up as the Jewish kid in the neighborhood, we often would harvest some tree branch clippings from the local Christmas tree lot and decorate them. I was always proud of our Christmas branch. This year, we decided to harvest a big ol’ branch from a tree in our yard. It makes a beautiful arc on the ceiling. Our two month old loves the lights. We’ll hang our homemade decorations on it soon.

Such a great idea for a contest!
Here is my entry! Keeping spirits high while away from family! I'm still on the lookout for a pickle ornament. I know that sounds odd but it is actually a German tradition my family has passed down. Basically, you hide a pickle ornament on the tree and the first kid that finds the pickle on Christmas day gets an extra treat.
When I was growing up I fondly remember being the first one year and getting this awesome Hotwheels car that I still have today. I wonder if in the future I'll be passing out Hotwheels NFTs to the kids in my life instead of actual toys :D

However, I am new to this platform and do not know how to enter longer text, so here is the longer version :).
With just four nights prior to Christmas Eve, this year we were quite late in buying our christmas tree. So instead of having to choose from a couple of hundred different trees in our local gardening center, the selection was already down to only about 10 trees that have been left behind. Out of these only two had the height that we wanted so the decision making process (which usually take quite long as it involves looking at all available trees from all sides) was really fast this time.
When we brought it inside our house, I helped my wife with the decoration.
To my mind, it looks even better when one is sitting in the warm and cozy inside and it is snowing outside. When we bought the tree it was snowing and we had a nice winter wonderland outside. Unfortunately, the past days have been warmer so the snow melted away and there is no white christmas for us.
To me Christmas is about sharing. In order to keep that spirit alive I would be sharing the 10 HIVE price pool with the other 9 users that have already posted their trees and shared their stories.
