Underwater, una ilustración en la que me inspiré sobre la inseguridad de muchas personas, la aprobación, las críticas y el constante peso de hacer las cosas bien ante los ojos de los demás.
Underwater, an illustration I was inspired by about many people's insecurity, approval, criticism and the constant burden of doing things right in the eyes of others.
Inicialmente quería hacer a un niño descuidado y observado por un montón de ojos, reflejar esa presión constante que se puede sentir al siempre hacer todo como a los demás les guste y no porque realmente queramos ser así. Mientras continuaba, cambié bastante la idea del niño "indefenso" a un adolescente con el semblante cansado, dando como hecho que está acostumbrado de no ser él mismo ante los ojos de los demás, dándole igual. Los ojos flotan bajo el agua, mientras él está hundido, sin importarle nada.
Initially I wanted to make a child careless and watched by a lot of eyes, to reflect that constant pressure that can be felt by always doing everything the way others like it and not because we really want to be that way. As I continued, I pretty much changed the idea of the "helpless" child to a teenager with a tired countenance, taking it as a given that he is used to not being himself in the eyes of others, not giving a damn. The eyes are floating underwater, while he is sinking, without a care in the world.
