Whenever I work on my 3d projects I usually start from the very basic shapes and gradually work on the details. I guess it is logical to start from something simple and then add the details later. I find it less stressful and it doesn’t burn me out so quickly.
What I noticed in my years of experience in 3d is that I have a tendency to abandon a project whenever I lose interest in it. That’s especially true whenever I can’t imagine the final outcome of the project.
One way to keep my interest going is to subsequently test the outcome using low render settings. Although it’s time consuming, it helps me maintain my enthusiasm for the project.
Recently, I started a project that I called “Long House”. It’s a modern “box-type” house situated on a mountainside. And then to make it more luxurious, a simple lap pool will do. Although the house is just a simple box model, the real challenge was creating the full-height glass panels. I spent too much time adding too much details on it but I end up not rendering a close-up view of it.
Anyway, let’s go through the breakdown of my rendering process:
Flat out flying in the face of everyone who insists that you absolutely have to finish everything you start, I'm of the firm belief that this is perfectly fine especially if you feel that you got something out of it (whether that be just because you felt like making something at the time all the way through to trying to pick up/practise a skill). There's only so much time after all and I feel like it's wasted if you slog on finishing something just because you feel you "should".
I have only a small amount of patience for "should"
Obviously different matter altogether if it's a gig XD
Jeez box house looked so minimalist and simple from the outside and then the interior is like HELLO WE ARE THE LAP OF LUXURY O_O
Oh yeh always do test renders ;D
(I say because I love seeing how things might look and also because it's a good excuse for a break)

These are amazing! Just an FYI I noticed on your blog tab you only have one post, the rest are in all posts tab. If you want them on your blog also just click the three dots on your post and click add to blog.
You will need to do this whenever you post in a community, cheers!
I didn't notice such option, thanks for the suggestion. I'll do it right away.
No problem it's not that obvious a lot of people miss it!
