Abbey in the oakwood watercolors and acrylics on paper
Hello everyone dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. My daily post is a tribute to a painting by an artist I love, Caspar David Friedrich. This is the famous subject Abbey in the oakwood, where a mysterious restlessness hovers in the landscape.
I interpreted with watercolors and acrylics the original work that had been created by Friedrich in oil on canvas. I wanted to highlight a strong brightness in the sky, which I painted in watercolor, leaving the white of the paper to illuminate the scene.
In backlight I painted the trees that arise from the darkness of the earth.
I only illuminated the path that leads to the decadent abbey surrounded by tombs, crosses and tombstones.
I hope you like my version of the work and I send you a yellow hug like acid light.
Armando.

Armando.

Marvelous! It's the murky green path that I am most transfixed by... It is the center of all the confusion and mystery...
