¡Hola! ¿Que tal todo amigo?
Hace un tiempo hice esta ilustración bastante experimental donde usé tinta china, pintura al frío y tinta de color magenta.
Y revisando archivos encontré todo el proceso de como la realicé, así que hoy quiero compartir con ustedes parte de lo que es mi proceso creativo a la hora de crear una ilustración.

A while ago I made this rather experimental illustration where I used Chinese ink, cold paint and magenta ink.
And reviewing files I found the whole process of how I did it, so today I want to share with you some of what is my creative process when it comes to creating an illustration.
Como primer paso trabajo la idea, para ello me hago algunas preguntas para saber mas sobre lo que quiero hacer:
- ¿Que quiero generar?
- ¿Que tipo de ilustración será?
- ¿Será algo conceptual o completamente espontáneo?
En este caso la ilustración que hice es completamente espontánea y experimental, ya que solo tenia ganas de dibujar y probar los materiales, no tenía en mente un concepto para trabajar.
Ya teniendo en cuenta que tipo de ilustración será, lo siguiente que hago es buscar referencias, por si no tengo en claro algunas cosas que quiero dibujar, por ejemplo peinados, rasgos, composiciones, y demás detalles.
Aveces suelo buscar en Google imágenes, pero con mucha mas frecuencia busco en Pinterest o Instagram. No está mal buscar referencias, pues te ayudan a definir mejor el resultado final, lo malo está en copiar exactamente esas referencias y plagiar el arte de los demás.
Por último defino cuales son los materiales que voy a usar, los coloco en la mesa donde voy a dibujar y de esta forma voy ordenando todo.
As a first step I work the idea, for this I ask myself some questions to know more about what I want to do:
- What do I want to generate?
- What kind of illustration will it be?
- Will it be conceptual or completely spontaneous?
In this case the illustration I did is completely spontaneous and experimental, since I just wanted to draw and test the materials, I did not have in mind a concept to work with.
Already considering what type of illustration it will be, the next thing I do is look for references, in case I don't know how to do some things I want to draw from, for example hairstyles, traits, compositions and other details.
Sometimes I look for images on Google, but much more often I search Pinterest or Instagram. It's not wrong to look for references, because they help you better define the end result, the bad thing is to copy exactly those references and plagiarize the art of others.
Finally I define what materials I will use, I put them on the table where I will draw and in this way I order everything.
En esta ilustración la cual es bastante simple, utilicé los siguientes materiales:
In this illustration which is quite simple, I used the following materials:
- Tinta china de color negro para el delineado.
Black Chinese ink for delineation.
- Tinta para impresora de color magenta.
Magenta color printer ink.
- Un pincel 000 bastante delgado para el delineado de la ilustración.
A 000 brush quite thin for the outline of the illustration.
- Una hoja de papel un poco mas gruesa que una hoja blanca normal, tiene textura y un tono amarillento, son unas hojas que me regalaron hace tiempo y me parecen brutales para ilustrar.
A sheet of paper a little thicker than a normal white sheet, has texture and a yellowish tone, are leaves that I was given a long time ago and I find them brutal to illustrate.
- Pintura para tela color turquesa, no usé tela como soporte pero ese color está muy genial así que por eso lo usé.

- Luego de ya tener la idea lista, comienzo a realizar el boceto a lápiz de grafito, algunas veces uso un lápiz de color rojo o azul, como muchos artistas lo hacen para diferenciar mejor las lineas de estructura del dibujo.
After I have the idea ready, I start sketching using graphite pencil, sometimes I use a red or blue pencil, as many artists do to better differentiate the structure lines from the drawing.
Así quedaría el boceto terminado.
That's what the finished sketch would look like.
Luego comencé a colocar la tinta de color magenta, usando un pincel viejo que tengo con cerdas abiertas, ya que dejaría una textura bastante interesante para realizar el cabello del personaje.
Como este personaje usa dreadlocks me vendría bastante bien el pincel y la textura, y el color magenta le daría un toque de color bastante genial.
Then I started to place the magenta ink, using an old brush that I have with open bristles, as it would leave a rather interesting texture to make the character's hair.
As this character uses dreadlocks I could use the brush and texture quite well, and the magenta color would give it a pretty cool touch of color.
- Luego pasé a delinear de manera bastante sencilla todo el personaje usando la tinta china de color negro y el pincel fino 000.
Then I went on to perform the whole line of the character, quite simply and using the black Chinese ink and the 000 fine brush.
- Por ultimo decidí colocar una linea de fondo usando el color turquesa.
Finally i decided to place a background line using the turquoise color.
Y así quedó finalmente la ilustración.
And that's finally the illustration.
También pude realizar un pequeño vídeo de como hice toda la ilustración, espero les guste.
