Happy Sunday #hive @onchainart , Having a lazy Sunday and not much to do, So why not create something quick !
For this scene I only had a Sphere as my earth and for the lighting I have used an HDRI image so here we go !
I created Earth based on a simple sphere and couple of texture maps got from ( https://www.solarsystemscope.com/textures/ ) , And while preparing my shaders and putting on the layers I will show you in the breakdown how to get a nice planet earth render .
Scene Breakdown
I have started with setting up my sphere and camera, Once done I have used a worldmap and turned it into a displacement map to get my model details in
Once I attached the dis map my sphere started to shape as planet earth, And as for the values it is up for the artist on how high or low the values needed .
Once i was set with the displacement map values i placed the same texture in the color node to separate my land and my water areas .
Once done with earth, I have created another sphere and that sphere will by the clouds, I used the clouds texture as both displacement and as opacity map so we could still see the earth underneath.
And for my last layer I added a reflective ball, This will help with some reflections and specular highlights for the water areas, ( Side note this layer is optional )
