Una parada en la Plaza Araujo🌲[Esp/Eng]

Espero que estén super bien, hace unos días atrás, cuando iba de regreso a mi casa en el autobús, me llamó una amiga diciéndome que me quedara en algún lugar de La Asunción para que ella me pasara buscando porque teníamos que comprar algunas cosas y era el día indicado para eso. Yo la verdad no lo tenía planificado, pero me pareció buena idea aprovechar la tarde y salir un rato de la rutina.

I hope you are all doing well. A few days ago, when I was on my way home on the bus, a friend called me and asked me to stay somewhere in La Asunción so she could pick me up because we had to buy some things and it was the right day for it. I hadn't really planned it, but I thought it was a good idea to make the most of the afternoon and get out of the routine for a while.

Y esta pequeña salida imprevista me dio la oportunidad de visitar una de las plazas que, para mí, entra en los lugares que definitivamente conoces si has visitado La Asunción varias veces. Y aunque es cierto que yo no visito mucho esta zona, el regreso a mi casita amerita pasar por ella, y esta plaza resulta ser una de las paradas del bus.

And this little unexpected outing gave me the opportunity to visit one of the squares that, for me, is one of those places you definitely know if you have visited La Asunción several times. And although it is true that I don't visit this area very often, the return to my little house warrants passing through it, and this square happens to be one of the bus stops.

Esta plaza es conocida como la Plaza Araujo, se encuentra muy cerca de la iglesia principal. Es una zona bastante transitada y aunque la plaza es bastante pequeña, está rodeada de grandes árboles que dan mucha sombra, y eso que para el momento en el que estaba ahí eran la 1 pm, horas en las que el sol en la isla es bastante fuerte. Aun así, se sentía un poco más fresco gracias a los árboles.

This square is known as Plaza Araujo, and it is located very close to the main church. It is a fairly busy area, and although the square is quite small, it is surrounded by large trees that provide plenty of shade, even though it was 1 pm when I was there, when the sun on the island is quite strong. Even so, it felt a little cooler thanks to the trees.

Tiene una estatua justo en el centro, pero no encontré el nombre de a quién rendía homenaje. También busqué en Google, pero seguí sin encontrar información confiable, y justo cuando le iba a preguntar a un señor si de casualidad sabía quién era el personaje de la estatua, llegaron por mí, así que sigue siendo una incógnita por resolver.

There is a statue right in the center, but I couldn't find the name of the person it was honoring. I also searched on Google, but I still couldn't find any reliable information, and just when I was about to ask a man if he happened to know who the person in the statue was, they came for me, so it remains a mystery to be solved.

Cuando menciono que esta plaza es bastante transitada es porque realmente lo es. Al ser un punto de conexión a varias zonas importantes de La Asunción, siempre hay carros pasando de un lado a otro, transporte público, motos, etc. No puedo decir que sea un lugar para ir a relajarte por horas porque el ruido es bastante, pero como tiene bancos y buena sombra es perfecta para hacer una pequeña parada, descansar unos minutos y luego continuar tu camino, justo como fue mi caso mientras esperaba que pasaran por mí.

When I say that this square is quite busy, I mean it. As it is a connection point to several important areas of La Asunción, there are always cars passing back and forth, public transportation, motorcycles, etc. I can't say it's a place to go and relax for hours because it's quite noisy, but as it has benches and good shade, it's perfect for a quick stop, resting for a few minutes, and then continuing on your way, just as I did while waiting for someone to pick me up.
