Nice post, the dead plants are the best part, I like them a lot. Because even now you can see how gorgeous they were when they were alive. They look like sad ghosts ...

The starling - I like this blurred one. It fits the post's mood better. In my opinion.

The plant is called ornamental kale. They are annuals.

ps. wiki says -- "Ornamental cabbage and kale are the same species as edible cabbages, broccoli, and cauliflower (Brassica oleracea) but have much fancier and more colorful ...etc". so I was close to the cabbage. 😋 🤩
