My school's lecturers joined their counterparts at other universities in announcing a strike on February 14. Nearly all public colleges, especially those managed by the federal government, are members of the union organization that looks out for the interests of lecturers.
Academic activities at the impacted institutions have been suspended for precisely eight months, and university students have been staying at home during that time. The union known by the initials ASUU, which stands for Academic Staff Union of University, just called off their strike on October 14th.
But now that the strike has been called, everyone is relieved. I walked to the library to read because I only had 40 days till the start of my examinations. I decided to show you all some photos from the stroll.
I started off my trip to the library by taking this photo. CITS, which stands for Centre for Information Technology and Systems, is the commonly used name for the distant structure in the image. Everything relating to information and technology is housed in the facility, including the school server.
The picture's foreground features my school's fire station office. The image's background features a gravity tank, which is only visible because of its height. Actually, it's in a different complex.
The school's media center, which houses the school's radio and television stations, is the first structure in the photo. I am still making my way to the library. The other structure with a slanting roof is an event hall.
Here is the entrance to my school's library. Four storeys make up the library, one of which is subterranean. The library for the law faculty is located on the lower level. Note that the library was built in 1965.
A close-up of the picture above. Did you notice the murals on the sides of the wall of the library's verandah?
While reading I took a picture of the bookshelves
I made the decision to photograph the murals after leaving the library, and here are the photographs I took.
This is a Panoramic view
A close-up picture of one of the murals
Read, learn, study, develop, grow
A wider Panoramic view of the library building from the stairs leading to the lagoon front
On my way back, I decided to take a picture of the gravity tank, this time around showing its true position
I also took a selfie
Nice dear this ASUU strike is really alarming and now things would be in rush we just hope for the very Best 🙏
What school are you in??
I'm in Unilag.
This is the situation things are now
Nice 👍
Indeed but we should buckle up and hope for the Best 🙏
Looks like a nice university - I love the library building ! Lecturers had been striking here for a number of years (for days at a time, not years !) as well prior to coivd. It really was impacting the students. I had spoken to a few of them (I used to work at the University of Edinburgh, but not as a lecturer) - and they were really angry about how it was messing up their exams, and everything - not nice at all.

I didn't know strike happens in UK universities. Ours is something that happens almost every year and it wastes student time.
Thanks for stopping by hoosie.🙏

Nigerians students are suffering because of the strike, eight months strike students are at home doing nothing and our politicians are campaigning for the next election, they would come out to promise heaven and earth but when they get to the office they forgot the promises they made. This is the same youths who will fight for the the same politician to win election. I think is a high time we have a rethink. rest my case.
Yes, bro! The education quality in the country is in decline and the government is doing nothing about it.
Reading books at the library is the best thing
Yeah, it is thanks for taking the time to read my post.
