Last night I walked around the Mesa Temple grounds. They are decorated with beautiful lights and scenes of Christ's birth story.
I walked 1.39 miles for 2 hours and 5 minutes. It was wonderful!
I got to the temple right before sunset and stayed for a couple of hours serving as a volunteer.
Throughout the temple grounds there are areas that have scenes set up.
Isaiah's prophecies of Jesus Christ
Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is give...Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 53:5
...with his stripes we were healed.
The Shepard's camp
For those that are familiar with the Christmas story as told in Luke 2 you will know that the angels told the shepherds about Christ's birth.
Luke 2:8, 10
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field...And the angel said to them, "Fear not, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people".

The temple at sunset.
The Nativity
One of the highlights of the Mesa Temple lights is the nativity scene.
Luke 2:7
And she brought forth her first born son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
Luke 2: 12
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
The beautiful lights all over the temple grounds
Wise Men
And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him; and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold and frankincense and myrrh.
The New Star
What a beautiful display of stars in the heaven!
Matt 2:2
For we have seen his star in the east and are come to worship him.
Helaman 14:5-6
And behold, there shall be a new star arise, such an one as ye never have beheld; and this also shall be a sign unto you. And behold this is not all, there shall be many signs and wonders in heaven.
Mesa Temple Visitor's Center
Close to the temple is the Visitor's center. There are exhibits and activities inside related to the temple. During the time the Christmas lights are on there is a fantastic nativity exhibit at the visitor's center.
International Nativity Exhibit
There are 150 nativities from all over the world.
There were so many awesome nativities, here are some of them!
I want to end with this beautiful song What Child is This? It is one of my favorite Christmas songs and one that I asked my brother @jarvie to sing at our Christmas program this year.
I am grateful for Christ and all he is and has done for me and love the Christmas season when we get to celebrate his birth.

Thanks for joining the Wednesday, I always love seeing all the walks shared from around the world, but as I am not getting out for as many walks at the moment I am especially loving the walks all around the world its like a virtual world tour
Yes, the nativity scene is really great and each night they pick a person or family to put in the "baby Jesus". Last night it was a family with a lot of kids. Very special.
Ohh thats so nice they let different family place the baby Jesus what a sweet and great idea
Nice nativity scene(s). I like the variety of models from around the world. That's really cool.
Yes, it was so amazing. I should go back, there are so many it is hard to get really see all of them. They are so unique to the country too. It was delightful.
What a lovely walk Sara to get into the Christmas mood. We don't have such a nice religious Christmas vibe here so I'm so glad to see it from Arizona. Thanks
Hi Pauline. Yes, it was so special. I want to go back.
