Share Our World: Indian Sands Hike

in Wednesday Walk4 months ago

I am excited to share this walk/hike of Indian Sands Hike along beautiful Oregon Coast. It is a 1.1 mile loop through the trees and along the coast.

The Oregon Coast has some great features, as compared to other coast lines, big pointy rocks, trees that go right up to the coast.

I went on this same hike 3 years ago and blogged about it here Share Our World: Indian Sands Hike, Oregon Coast.

It was really interesting to see how many had changed in that amount of time. There are no more succulents along the trail and the sand dunes have shifted.

It is still very green on parts of the trail. Below is the trail through the forest going down.

And this is coming up the trail on the other side.

Now let's see the ocean! Here is the first view of the ocean when you emerge out of the forest.

We quickly made our way to the bridge formation.

We stayed here for awhile some pondering, some chatting, me and Meganne getting a selfie. Actually right before Meganne came over I was enjoying watching the waved crash up into the rocks. It was really soothing.

I was so enamored with the blues and greens that I didn't get any pictures of some of the group jumping in the sand dunes. Below you can see some sand and how bare it looks.

Once you walk to the edge of this cliff you see this beautiful sight! This coastline is so different from the one I grew up with in San Diego, California. I prefer the Oregon coast, it is more of walking and hiking beach, instead of swim and tanning beach. Being fair skinned I always burned when I was out of the water and I was so skinny that I always froze when I was in the water. It was not my favorite place.

The Oregon Coast is wonderful. Sometimes I even need my winter clothes! I will show you some fun pictures when we are at the beach later in the trip.

Oh and here are a few plants along the way!

I would be also in love with this beautiful trail, Sara. That blue from the ocean is amazing 🥰

A tiny mushroom 🍄 ;)) cool finding too.

Yes, it is gorgeous! So fun to be able to see the ocean most of the time!

Hi Tammy. I am glad that you like it and I am happy to share the places I travel with the Hive community.

such a spectacularly beautiful area the trees so tall making you all look so small and the lovely rugged rocky ocean scenes

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk

Have a great day

Thanks Jay, it really is!

It may sound stupid, but sometimes I forget America has a coastline as well, and it's so beautiful.

Well it is interesting cause having lived in England and Taiwan, two islands we have coast lines on either side, not surrounding us.

What a wonderful walk. The views and trail are stunning.
Great captures of your surroundings.
Have a lovely day 👋🏻😊

Hi @littlebee4 Thanks, it was so easy to get great pictures because everywhere I looked so so beautiful!

I can imagine and saw.

Oh you visited this place after 3 years? and the landscape and feeling were the same? it shows how nature lover the people of this place are.

The landscape changed a lot. The sand dunes were in a different place and the succulent plants were all gone. It was a bit sad. It was still beautiful looking out to the ocean.

There are many tall trees that create a beautiful view and the beach is very beautiful. Your world is truly exciting

Agreed, this part of the our world (The Oregon Coast) is beautiful and exciting.

Oh, how I love this kind of coastline - rocky, very relief, with all sorts of channels and bizarrely shaped cliffs, free-standing rocks and waves swirling along them. And also the forest along the high bank, where you can look at all the beauty from above and sometimes hide in the shade of the trees :) It's cool, my eyes are very happy to see it, thank you for sharing such a wonderful walk!

And where have the succulents gone in the three years since your last walk there?

Looks like such a beautiful patch of coastline!

We're just a couple of hundred miles north, in Western Washington, and our Pacific Coast is similar, but seems more weatherbeaten somehow. Great places for hiking, to be sure!

I like the rocky coastal scenes you get along the west coast. Oregon definitely has some good ones!

That is really a beautiful work you had and I am so sure that you must have really had a great time. I love the beautiful view of nature

So glad you liked it @adese
