The logic says that a walk is an activity done on firm ground. We lift and put down each of our feet in turn, at the pace we feel pleasant for us. Or, if we are in hurry, and actually walk as we have to do some tasks, then the process is done at a higher speed. Nothing new is said here, all this is known. But how a walk, a #WednesdayWalk can be done on water?
Is it possible at all?
If you are an illusionist, you may try to make your audience believe that walking on the surface of the water is doable.
If you are just a normal person but happen to blog in Hive you may get some secret powers to do it. Or you can get a boat, as a helping tool... To be honest, there are no secret powers, just indeed a boat that served me on Monday to sail the waters of one river. The Danube. Let's see where I have found one boat for this activity:
The starting point of this water walk ride was the marina where these small boats were parked. We talk about small ones, not some luxurious yachts. There are a few bigger boats too, that is true, but in general, the small ones are those that are prevailing.
At the entrance of this small harbour, a statue of the goddess NIKE is greeting us. The harbour of this city, Apatin, was in another place, but some 15 or 20 years ago (I am not sure about the exact year), this new marina was constructed. Not long after this new marina was open, this statue was made and placed here.
The construction of this marina is simple. Several parallel pontoons, where the boats are moored, and there are two small bridges with which you cross over to the neighbouring pontoon moorings.
There were some nice boats parked on the main path. I liked the combination of the colours, white, blue and yellow, and some red details too. Do you see the smiling emoji on this one? Isn't it just cute?
In my search for a boat, these big ones crossed my path too. The next one is called Liberty. It is a touristic boat, that can host around 30 people and offer a ride to the Republic of Liberland. That is a small island, in the middle of the Danube between Serbia and Croatia. This piece of land, surrounded by water was proclaimed a free republic in 2015. You can even opt for citizenship, in this land of 7 km². The currency of it is Liberland merit and Bitcoin. Their motto is "To Live and Let Live".
This one is also a touristic boat, but it serves just for excursions and rides on the Danube. Still, this was not my boat. Our one was a lot smaller, not suitable for so many people, just for a few of us.
So, our boat ride started and we were completely surrounded by water. The Danube flows fast, and we went upstream. Luckily, our water vehicle was a metal motor boat with which we headed towards our destination.
In the meantime, we met other motor boats, similar to the one we were using. It is summer, and time for the holidays. People usually spend the days (of at least the afternoons) on the water because it is refreshing and interesting. Some like fishing and others swimming, or just riding a boat like this one.
Our destination was a sand island, which was created by nature through the accumulation of sand. It has been there for a couple of years and is still growing because the river is constantly bringing new layers of sand. What is interesting is that a lot of grass, bushes and trees have grown and the roots of those plants keep this soil firmer. Just a decade ago, there was nothing here, just water.
You can also notice the vegetation that has grown out from the sand. It will be a fully formed island soon. The problem is that the sand is piling up and the part between the island and one riverside is getting more and more shallow. Maybe this will not be just an island in some years or decades. It will merge with the coast.
The other part of the flowing path of the river is still wider and good for the big ships to cruise here. The forest we see on the other side, (those darker trees) is already the nature park Kopački Rit in Croatia.
We spent here the afternoon. Fully disconnected from online stuff, our company were just the sun, the river, a lot of sand and growing forest, fruits, and a book.
When we wanted to walk back to the city, we took again our small metal boat and headed toward the settlement. The colours changed, as the setting sun gave a golden touch to the forest and water.

Hahahha, there my name is!
I'm stalking you around 😂
Ok, now you made me plan a visit to Apatin, never been and had no idea how nice it is.
Water, water everywhere!
I know, I did that photo on purpose 🥳
{Cool, my plan is unfolding very well. Showing it is nice and tempting people to come here. Perfect 😁}
Youuuuuuuuu.... :P
😂
Cool! In every sense of the word.. 😄
Heheh, the water was also a bit cold, perfect for cooling down 😁
😄
Wow. The harbour is so clean. And the island is so beautiful for having a white sand. It's been awhile that I abke to ride a boat. 😊
It is nicely maintained as also tourists come to this area. The sand in some of the photos is darker, it's because it was wet and dried up on the sun. But yes, it is indeed white and soft in some parts.
Thanks for taking with me this boat ride :))
You really sure did have fun there. 😊
What a beautiful sand island that is. I really love white sands. Also, the touristic boat is beautiful.
I am glad you liked the touristic boat and the sand island. There are no palm trees for example, as it's not the climate for it, but anyway it's a lovely island in the middle of a river :)
A beautiful boat 🚤 ride @mipiano 😎😁 or better a walk over water 😉🤭😂🤣
Great views and the marina is just cute.
The island is interesting to hear it is growing and probably merging one day with the sides.
Looks like a nice day out.
Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful midweek today 👋🏻☀️ Enjoy…
A walk over water, of course! :)
The island and the vegetation is so different to our Spanish landscape, isn't it?
I am glad you could also take part in this boat trip through this post, hope you enjoyed the ride :)))
Have a cool Wednesday @littlebee4
P.S. air-conditioner fixed by now?
Yes, everything is so different than our Spanish landscape. For sure.
Happy I joined in and could dream away of cooler areas and shade greens.
Thank you so much @mipiano it is needed.
The technician couldn’t fix it. He said those parts don’t even exist anymore as the machine was 20+ years… pppffff now we are waiting to hear back if the landlord want to replace it 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 It’s just hot 🥵 hope it won’t take toooooo long hahaha
I keep calm and don’t move to much 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 he should have fixed it last time. But no… he wanted to be cheap and just clean it.
oh, it couldn't be fixed? so, an old one, that even the parts don't exist anymore...
The landlord has to replace it! If you rented out the flat with the description that it had an air conditioner, it must work. If doesn't work he should replace it, as you are paying for a flat with air conditioner - in working conditions.
Anyway, I hope at least the fires are not close to you...
I didn’t hear anything back yesterday. Today I got the message from the agency that the owner wants a second opinion and only want to fix it temporarily to get it through the summer… but that doesn’t help that the cables overheat and no switches in the electricity panel blow… crazy. The agency said she hopes she can arrange an appointment before Tuesday 😳😳😳 no words… just crazy. It already never worked properly and he only cleaned it last time, when we just moved in, in august.
More days with no aircon… not funny… it’s hot 🥵 I’m not feeling well because of it.
Problem is the owner is a company. We are just a number. I know he needs to replace it, he just doesn’t want to. Sigh 😔
They are luckily not close to me this time. Scary things everywhere.
Hope you are having fun on your holidays and a great time with family @mipiano
Enjoy your Friday 👋🏻😁💃🏻
What a blissful day you had on that island. I enjoyed the ride through your photos and wished I could have such a vacation too❤
Thank you so much @ifarmgirl, and also for sharing my post on twitter 😇
I always have the summer for vacations, a teacher doesn't work during the summer break :))) We use this time then to travel, to visit families, friends and have fun time like this. I hope you can also have some longer and great vacations soon! :)
It's a pleasure, I loved the tour, it's refreshing to see the waters. We live in a mountainous region and there is no sea in proximity. We have to drive about 4 hours to get to one :)
Thank you lots too and enjoy your summer break Mademoiselle :) All the best !LADY

Jesus walked on water 😎. hahaha, just kidding.
The water is calm, perfect for a relaxing boat riding. I miss riding in a boat ⛵
Well, maybe you are right, I missed out to write that too :))
The water in the harbour is calm, indeed, but the river, when in open, flows pretty fast. Going upstream is not possible without a motor boat.
So you like to ride a boat too? I wish you can do it soon and have a great time!
Thank you for your visit @cli4d 😇
Walking on water is a talent i have not managed to attain as yet either :)
but I am pretty flexible with the Wednesday walk, so a boat ride would have counted fine for me, plus you did walk to the boat :)
Looks such a beautiful marina, I did love the boat with the smiley face, and that bridge over the boats looks like a good bit of exercise to walk over it
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
Thanks for being flexible :))
Indeed, I walked that part in the harbour and also on the island! I had a Wednesdaywalk made in the future, with a helicopter and now also made on water hahaha ( I am just having fun while writing theses posts, you know.)
Thanks for reading and checking out @tattoodjay
Having fun is the key
Very cool I like it and you definitely captured the essence of a walk by showing us the Danube!
Hey hey @sjarvie5
Thanks so much for your visit, I am glad you could enjoy the atmosphere that this river offers. :))
You know, there's a YouTube Channel (un mundo inmenso) that talks about this particular place in Europe: Liberland. And now, I found this wonderful post of yours and get fascinated with the history and the way you describe (rides, boats) everything. Amazing, seriously. I meant what I just said. Loved your post!
Que coincidencia, por lo de Liberland!!
Yes, it is here, very close to this place, and just with a boat ride, you can reach it. Seems that not everyone is that excited with the project of Liberland as the previous touristic boat that was taking people there was damaged by fire. It is not clear if the fire was set on purpose or if it was just an accident.
Thank you for your very kind words @freakshow90, I really appreciate your visit 😎
The sand island call completely my atention, the eart always is changing and is fascinating how there was only water and now there is an island, later the life will grow up in that place :D . In did it was a reat walk :D
Oh, indeed. The surface of our planet is always changing somehow... Sometimes as a consequence of human activity and many times as mother nature decides to mess up a bit the things. But it has the right to do it :))
Yes, life will come (already came) to this island!
Thanks @promete0sz for checking out my post.
The place you visited reminds me of the island I visited the other month.
Indeed spending time with nature sometimes is the best.
We used that can of boat as transportation in my hometown. I grew up in an island
Wow, you grew up on an island? That is cool, I guess! Maybe the transportation is not always the easiest, but I imagine it is exciting to live on an island. :)
We love this sand island as it gives us the feeling of freedom... it is not a packed beach, so that is cool!

I am very attracted to natural photographs. And you've taken many of them here. My favorite is the one with the trees reflected in the water (penultimate one).
Thanks for your feedback :)
It was already different when the sun was setting down. I guess the golden colours are making the difference.

Have some !PIZZA
