Hello, welcome to my blog. In few hours it will be the first weekend of the year. I hope you're enjoying the holidays.
I'm really enjoying my holiday getaway at my elder sister's village! The warm hospitality and serene atmosphere are making this a truly unforgettable experience. I'm glad I accepted the invitation to spend the holidays with them.
Since arriving, I've been living it up, spending time with my nephews, nieces, and even my in-laws! But today, I decided to take a break and enjoy some fresh air, so I went for a lovely morning walk outdoors.
So this is my first walk of the year, and what a delight it was! I savored every moment of my morning stroll, surrounded by the crisp air and warm sunshine. The chill of the morning was perfectly balanced by the sun's gentle rays, making for a truly invigorating experience.
I also found some fascinating things which I'd be sharing with you. So let's go.
The first thing I found was this fruit. At first glance, it appears sweet, but sadly, it's actually not edible. I had hoped it was so I can savor the taste while on the walk.
Moving away from there, I saw this - a flower seed and it's beautiful bloom.
I haven't seen such a unique plant before. Well, there are many unique things to see here because it's a forest zone.
Isn't this a beaut?
I have a little friend here. She came with the young brother to fetch firewood.
When I saw her go right inside the bush, I followed suit and also helped her fetch some firewood. She was so happy and I was glad to help.
The boy
Finally we have a bike man here. I had wondered where they all went to, lol.
Take a look at this. I'm sure you'd be wondering why these holes on the poor soil 😅. Well it's the handiwork of some small games, maybe rabbit or rodents.
Ants are one incredible creatures. Look at the tree and you'll see what they did up there - an anthill. How they built this beats my imagination.
Another bike.
In the previous post I published about "the bees", I mentioned that I caught sight of some box-like structures, which were actually beehives but was scared of going further into the apiary to check them out.
Well I did pass by there during my walk and I summoned the courage to get a bit closer and captured them. That's a job well done to me 😂.
Passing by this compound, I saw these logs of woods. Like I pointed earlier, there are forests and bushes here. So the locals, who are predominantly farmers, often cut them to make a living.
It was an enjoyable and refreshing walk, and I'm glad to have embarked on it.
Thank you for reading.
