Hi all 👋🏻
With this post I’m joining in at the Wednesday Walk challenge and Make me Smile challenge. That are hosted by @tattoodjay and @elizacheng every week on Wednesday.
‼️Have a look: Here in the Wednesday Walk CommunityWednesday Walk the Beach and Winsegansett Marshes!
It tells you also the rules of joining 😁 if you want to join in! or at @tattoodjay ’s Post here:
I will guide you through my photographs and my walk around and in the Tal-Mixta Cave on Gozo, Malta 🇲🇹 today. It’s a beautiful “scenic spot” as you can see pretty far around 🔭
I will follow the time stamps of my photographs.
So you can walk along with me and look at all the stunning views I show you 😎 as if you would be right there with me taking it all in. 😉
Photos are all taken with my iPhone on the 16 August 2020 just before we moved back to Spain. 📦📦📦
Located on Google maps with the yellow star ⭐️ :

The yellow arrow points at it!
Lets start our walk!
After following a rather bumpy road we parked our car in a car park close to the area.
We went from there on foot further. As we know where the cave is, through little wooden signs. We follow the path. But there is a road further and I saw on my phone at home, that it would be interesting to walk a little bit along it, past the cave. To explore the area a bit more 😎😁
So here we are walking down that path/ road.
Our view we got 🤩
Looking inland we see all terraces on the side of this hill. The locals made gardens there for crops and protected them with dried bamboo from the winds. It is an interesting view. Do you see the bamboo?
We walk further and see high cliff walls next to us.
The Mediterranean Sea 🌊 on the other side.
Little speed boats 🚤 are passing by quickly… in all directions.
Sailing boats are anchored 🌊⛵️⛵️🚤
The rock formations along the seafront.
After this view, we walk back up along the path and enter the cave by steps down. We see this view in front of us… it’s nicely shaded and a welcoming retrieve from the hot Sun ☀️ 😎
I take a photograph from the side of the Cave. Actually I try to avoid people here hahaha 🤣 it is a very popular spot for photographs, by locals and tourists. So this is me trying to avoid getting others in the photographs. 😁🤓
And now the other side of the cave… our view out is towards RAMBLA BAY one the most iconic beaches on Gozo 🇲🇹
As there is a ledge just after the cave opening, we step out to take better photographs of our views from Rambla Bay.
We see lots of people on the beach, many boats in the water 🚤⛵️
Zooming out again. So beautiful 🤩
A little bit further zoomed out. I love this view point 😎
Focussing on the beach. There is a statue right in the middle, but I can’t see it with my iPhone of course… even if I wanted to try. It’s just too far away. It is classed as the best beach from Malta. Ok, on the Island of Gozo, what is one of it’s archipelago’s.
Looking behind me we see the mouth of the cave.
I had to wait a while to get this shot 😉🤓
Closer by looking in.
As I turn around our views. People start to enter the cave again.
Quickly one big shot of the opening of the cave 🤩😎
A side view. Look at the colour of the water 💙💚
The textures of the walls…
All the way back in the cave now, people pass by and we get a view from afar. Now you can see the size of the cave opening. So you can relate better to it.
Behind me we see the exit on the right, where the light is shining. On the left side we see remnants of the cooking area. I believe this cave was used by farmers and goat shepherds back in the days.
No idea how old but it does look a long time ago. Malta has structures on the islands that even date back to before the pyramids 🤓 did you know?
A very wide view…
I just managed as everybody else was outside of the cave.
I did discover… on the side. A little small opening. Looking in the cave this is on the left side, bottom wall. You have to kneel down to look through it.
My view out of it.
Now we leave the cave on the right side, and go up the stairs…
One last photograph of the stairs 😁 man made, many moons ago…
We walk a bit further on a path towards the right, behind where the car is parked… and I take this last photograph of our views there.
A couple of speed boats are going along the coast line 🚤🚤🚤🚤🚤
And that’s all for today!
Until next time 😎
Hope you enjoyed my photos of this walk and going along with me. Thank you for looking and reading 😊 🙏🏻 Really much appreciated!
Any questions or comments, let me know. Always happy to help.
Have a great Wednesday all 😎

Hhah yes isn't it funny when we take travel photos of nice spots and we don't talk abotu the millions of people also getting the same shot!!! But you did well to wait - the photos are great. Love a cave view and it was sure worth the walk. I lvoe the terraced gardens with the bamboo fences - yes, I could see them - and thinking about the clear blue water and swimming! Did you go for a swim after your walk?
See… it is funny. Amazing places you will never be alone. Even in the pandemic times we were not alone in that cave hahaha 🤣 I can imagine in normal times it would have been crazy busy there. Luckily it wasn’t 😎
We didn’t go for a swim that day, we needed to go somewhere afterwards… I can’t remember what though. But hubby worked until the last day we lived there. So it wasn’t all like a holiday 😉🤓
Have a wonderful Thursday 👋🏻☀️ Thanks so much for your visit and kind worlds @riverflows 😁

This is such a very nice place to walk!
And there are a lot of beach goers. Well, can't blame them. The beach is really enticing!
Yes, even though it is a small island it was rather busy on that beach. But like you say… why wouldn’t they be there 😉 it is a stunning place 🤩

Wow the view from the bay is great. And the cave can be a perfect shelter for several days. I wish I could jump into that beautiful blue sea through your photos.
Yes, it would make a great shelter for a couple of days. Just the “other people will visit it in a constant stream” isn’t fun than hahaha 🤣
Have a wonderful day today 👋🏻☀️Thank you so much @dodovietnam 👋🏻😁
Fascinating place and beautiful photos @littlebee4! It's quite amazing to think that people actually lived in those caves many moons ago!
It is indeed fascinating to see just that and imagine… that people did live in caves many moons ago. And in some areas still do, but with a bit more luxury than back than.
Have a wonderful Friday and great start of the weekend!Thank you so much @lizelle 😁
That secluded cove and azure coloured sea look amazing
It was an interesting place Malta. I lived there exactly 1 year and have explored almost everything… as the island are so tiny.Thank you so much @grindle 😎
I admire your photo album, you have incredible images of your trips
Without a doubt this is a place that I would love to do a walk on Wednesday.
Beautiful shots, I really appreciate that you made us knownHello dear friend @littlebee4 good afternoon
Thank you so much, it’s more like I have lived in many places and countries. So it was easy to travel around while living there.
It sure is a beautiful place to walk around, maybe one day… 🤞🏻
Have a wonderful day further 😎Hello dear friend @jlufer good afternoon 👋🏻😁☀️
I have strong hopes that everything changes and the whole world is better and we can travel to see beautiful places in the world as you make us known in this opportunity
Me too @jlufer 🤞🏻🤞🏻 I hope soon it all will be better again.
This is a perfect place to make movies inspired in ancient Greece, I can imagine Zeus or Aphrodite walking on that beach, or some minotaur hidden in those caves. Your walk has transported me to that place and I enjoyed it very much, beautiful landscape, inspiring.
This place and the whole of Malta does lend itself for movies in many genres. Many, big names, movies were filmed in some amazing locations on the islands.Thank you so much @musicandreview 👋🏻😁
I can imagine… 🤩😉💃🏻
Great to hear the walk inspired you and transported you to this lovely spot. Thanks for joining me.
Have a wonderful day further!

Thank you so much @pinmapple 👋🏻😁 much appreciated!
I applaud you for your patience so you can take those shots. I like the view from the inside of the cave because of how the view was framed by the mouth of the cave.
I had to look intently to notice the bamboo shields. I thought at first they were rock walls. I was thinking that's a nice terrace of walls of rocks lol!
Such a perfect day for a walk. The water looks inviting.
Yes, my favourite view too.
It was a perfect day out and warm enough to jump right in the water 😉
Have a wonderful Thursday 👋🏻😎Thanks so much @leeart 😁 much appreciated!
If only I can go to the beach right now lol!
Have a good one too. Cheers!
I can imagine…
You too, have a great day! Cheers 🥂
