During the last two weeks, we have seen a very wet rainy season. The dirt road was too muddy and slippery for cycling. I had to wait for the sunshine to dry up the moisture in the earth so that I could go out cycling. But some parts of the dirt road was still very soft and muddy. I found it very hard to pedal out of the muddy trap. Luckily I didn’t fall off my bike. With cloudy weather I didn’t expect much of a nice sunset but I just wanted to see the cloudy mood of nature by the river.
My frequency was quite subdue as the clouds dampened everything most of the time. But I was very happy with the cloudy atmosphere and quiet surroundings. Life could seem quite boring and too mundane for many people. Many friends would be surprised that I could be contented with simple lifestyle with uneventful routine and the same scenery by the river. But these stable surroundings and the unexciting village life gave me a sense of security and more ‘permanent’ existence.
Most places or big cities tended to change very fast so there’s no sense of continuity or stability for me. Things a seemed to be in as state of flux and infinite uncertainty. This kind of surrounding and vibes would take too much life force from me and make me age faster. I found out that my simple routine with calming surroundings seemed to give me more energy and life became much less stressful.
So, I always prayed while cycling along the riverfront. It’s my way to show my appreciation and gratitude to Mother Nature and all invisible beings who have been guarding this area. While cycling past old abandoned houses, I often asked whether there’s any spirit or guardians living there. Several years ago, I would smell very sweet fragrance flowing from the old house. I used to see a lady in old Thai costume on the veranda long time ago. I haven’t seen her for ages, so I thought she might have traveled to the other dimension for her reincarnation into the next life.
The old villager who was also the village’s medium told me there’s an old man looking after the old wooden house. My thoughts darted between the present and future while cycling along the river. I wondered about the villagers living in makeshift huts on the riverbank, their lifestyles and aspirations in their lives. Those more wealthier people in nice houses seemed to live in a very different reality from those simple villages. They were so lucky to live in this peaceful area with special vibes. That’s probably why most local people were kind and respectful. It would be quite shocking to hear that a villager had his belongings stolen in this village. As most villagers knew each other and their families, it’s very hard to be a thief without being found out in a few hours.
Local people have always been very superstitious so they were afraid or bad karmas, curses and black magic or voodoo. There used to be a ‘black’ voodoo person in this village with terrible magic which could harm others. So, it was not a good idea to quarrel with villagers in the past as they could have black magic spell thrown in your direction. I heard that this powerful black witch had passed away earlier thus year. My gardener told me his daughter had pleaded with him to stop his profession. She was afraid all the bad karma would return to punish him in his old age. He told his daughter that he couldn’t stop as he couldn’t throw away all the spirits that had been in his circle. It’s just like being a drug addict, it’s very hard to let go and change drastically. There would be much pain and sufferings in both directions.
I had discovered that some kind of black magic had been thrown into the back of our garden years ago. My first land broker who looked after my interest had an argument with some local neighbour. I was quite stunned as I hadn’t seen such a ‘device’ since my youngster years, I knew what I had to do. I returned the black magic back to the sender. I owed my uncle many thanks for introducing me to the world of mediums and white magic when I was very young. Though I was very skeptical, I had witnessed many wonderful magical acts in a small hut far away from the city.
My subsequent meetings with a few white witches and healer psychic stood me in rather advantageous position and special knowledge. This experience had become one of my repertoire for survival. I had met some people with powerful magical tattoos under their shirts. I could sense if someone had strange vibes about them so I could move away to a safe distance.
The quiet and peaceful river gave me restful vibes to calm my nerves while the local guardians guarded me and my place. They often gave me warnings about bad storms or impending crisis and danger. I just hoped that I could do the right things most of the time and gather good karma so that those guardians would give me approval and support for a long long time.
Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.
Stay strong and cheerful.

Beautiful but first I was not sure where it is!
Thailand?
Yup! It’s the northeast of Thailand in Nongkhai. It’s a small border town with Laos, which is on the other side of the river.
Backpackers traveled by train to Nongkhai to cross over to Laos. It’s an hour from the border immigration office to Vientiane. Then tourists either go to Wang Wieng or Luan Prabang.
Nothing interesting in Nongkhai except for the old temple and famous Buddha statue.
Your post gives off a lovely vibe and the nature is so serene.
Have a lovely Friday:)
Thank you very much for your kindness and encouragement. Glad you like the simple and quiet life by the river.
You're very welcome. I do love to be by the river too:)
Yup! I saw that you have a long boat and travel along the canals in the UK. Used to see these narrow boats in Camden Lock long time ago.
Yes, it's a lovely way to see the stunning beauty of the UK countryside. I'd like to visit Camden Lock sometime:)))
