Christmas Magic with Balloons!

Happy Wednesday everyone!. A week ago, we were strolling through the Sambil Shopping Center in La Candelaria, Caracas, and once again we saw that the Toys "R" Us aisle was open. An entire wing on the second-to-last floor was decorated with balloons of various sizes and colors with Christmas themes. We were waiting for a good friend that day, so we had some time to kill, and this was the perfect excuse, as well as a lovely and enjoyable moment for my wife and me. For the second year in a row, the place managed to impress us with the ingenuity of the balloon sculptures.

Hace una semana estábamos de paseo por el Centro Comercial Sambil de la Candelaria en Caracas y nuevamente vimos que estaba abierto el pasillo Toys"R"us, donde toda un ala del penúltimo piso es adornada con globos de diversos tamaños y colores con motivos navideños. Ese día estábamos esperando a una buena amiga, así que teníamos que hacer tiempo y esta fue la excusa perfecta, además de un momento hermoso y ameno entre mis esposa y yo, porque vaya que por segundo año consecutivo el lugar logró impresionarnos con la genialidad de las esculturas hechas de globos.

I only recently discovered the magic of balloons, when we were planning our small civil wedding. I remember that to save money we wanted to decorate ourselves, so we started looking for video tutorials where we could learn how to handle and create with balloons. And boy, were we outdone by the true masters, who I suppose are the people who decorated this aisle. It seems to be made especially for children, but believe me, my wife and I weren't the only adults enjoying a happy stroll through this colorful place; in fact, there were more of us adults! 😅

Fue hace poco tiempo que descubrí la magia de los globos, cuando estábamos planificando nuestra pequeña boda por civil. Recuerdo que para economizar queríamos decorar nosotros mismos y comenzamos a buscar videos tutoriales donde pudiéramos aprender a manejar y crear con globos, y vaya que nos quedamos cortos ante los verdaderos Maestros, que supongo que son las personas que decoraron este pasillo. Parece ser hecho especialmente para los niños, pero créanme que mi esposa y yo no éramos los únicos adultos que estábamos dando un paseo feliz en este colorido lugar, de hecho éramos más los adultos 😅

This walkway is designed to make your stroll very pleasant. Along the way, you'll find various Christmas scenes, all made with large and small balloons of different colors and shapes, perfect for taking a family photo if you wish. The place is quite large, and there's no entrance fee. You just need to enter during the designated hours, and the one and most important rule is: don't touch the sculptures. I'm always amazed that places like this stay vibrant despite the hyperactivity of some children 🤣 but in addition to their parents, there's also a team that keeps things organized.

Este pasillo está hecho para que tu caminata sea muy amena, además, a lo largo del lugar hay diversos escenarios navideños, todos hechos con globos grande y pequeños, de distintos colores y formas para que puedas tomarte una fotografía postal familiar si así lo deseas. El lugar es bastante extenso y para entrar no hay que pagar, solo tienes que entrar en las horas indicadas y la única y más importante regla, no tocar las esculturas. Siempre me sorprende que lugares así se mantengan vivos con la hiperactividad de algunos niños 🤣 pero además de sus padres, también hay un equipo que se encarga de mantener el orden.

This is a very busy shopping center, but I must admit I was quite surprised to see so many people strolling around on a Wednesday, possibly due to the almost obligatory Christmas season. Right now in Venezuela, many are trying to mask the political situation with Christmas, but it is certainly pleasant to go for a walk and encounter scenes like this. I think a lot about the children, who deserve to have a magical Christmas, just like many of us did. This leads me to think about something else: the need we adults have to recapture the magic of that time of year that was so magical in our childhood...

Este es un centro comercial muy concurrido, pero debo aceptar que me sorprendió mucho que un miércoles hubieran tantas personas paseando en el, posiblemente por la temporada navideña casi que obligatoria, ya que justo ahora en Venezuela muchos quieren ocultar el panorama político con navidad, pero vaya que sí es agradable salir a dar un paseo y encontrarse con escenarios como este, y de hecho pienso mucho en los niños, que merecen tener una navidad mágica, tal como la tuvimos muchos de nosotros. Lo que me lleva a pensar en algo más, la necesidad que tenemos nosotros los adultos de recuperar la magia de esa época que fue tan mágica en nuestra niñez...

I'm sure this must be a lot of work. Even though there are easy ways to inflate these balloons, it's not just about that; it's about having the talent to decorate and create magic. I also imagine there are many people involved behind such magnificent balloon displays. The idea of ​​creating a whole walkway for people to stroll through and marvel at seems ideal to me. The only thing I feel needs improvement is controlling the number of people allowed inside, so everyone can have a chance to pose and take good photos. After all, that was the idea behind it.

Estoy seguro que esto debe ser un trabajo muy fuerte, aunque ya exista manera fácil de inflar estos globos, no se trata solo de eso, sino de tener genialidad para decorar y crear magia, también supongo que hay muchas personas involucradas detrás de tanta majestuosidad en globos. La idea de hacer todo un pasillo para que las personas caminen y se dejen maravillar me parece ideal, lo único que siento que debe mejorar es controlar la cantidad de personas que entrar, para que todos puedan asegurarse de posar y tomar buenas fotografías ahí dentro, después de todo fue creado con esa idea.

In the end, we were the ones who made our friend wait a little longer, because we weren't going to leave that place without exploring every corner, and in my case, even photographing everything that caught my eye, and boy, did it catch my eye! If you're in Caracas and haven't visited this colorful corridor in the Sambil Shopping Center in La Candelaria, I highly recommend it. It's worth going with special people who you know will enjoy it as much as you will, and you also need to be patient, since there will be many other people eager to enjoy it too. Al final fuimos nosotros los que hicimos que nuestra amiga tuviera que esperar un poco más, porque no íbamos a salir de ese lugar sin terminar de recorrer y conocer cada rincón, en mi caso, hasta de fotografiar todo lo que me llamaba la atención, y vaya que me llamó la atención. Si estás en la ciudad de Caracas y no has visitado este colorido pasillo en el Centro Comercial Sambil de La Candelaria pues te recomiendo que lo hagas, vale la pena ir con personas especiales que sepas que van a disfrutar de esto tanto como tú, y también tienes que hacerlo con paciencia, ya que habrá muchas personas con ganas de disfrutarlo también.
