What Happened Half of This Day: A Wednesday Walk

Hello, dearest Hivers! I just want to share what happened today. It’s Wednesday, and I woke up early because I planned to get my TOR and diploma from our university as I received an email the other day that it was all set for release. I had originally decided to get it yesterday, but then the rain poured, which resulted in me just lying in bed all day. But yeah, it’s already set in my mind, and without further ado, my feet have finally stepped into my beloved alma mater.

The sky is so blue, and I appreciate it so much, but it’s too hot. It’s not that very late in the morning, but the sun is burning with the intensity of a thousand fireballs HAHAHAHA. Also, I didn’t bring an umbrella. Upon going to the Admin Building where the registrar's office is located, I just took some snaps of the other building and the gym, which have been the host of most of our events before.

I can see there are many fresh and young faces, which are evidently freshmen. I can't help but remember those times when I was once like them, in the first years of college. Now, I'm just beyond thankful I got to survive four years in a state university where there are no tuition or other miscellaneous fees, and all I have to do is perform well.

Enough with the nostalgic moments, I arrived at the registrar's office and just waited for a while for my requested documents, and then I finally got them. I received them very fast because it's still early and they were not that hectic and busy yet. You know, first come, first served. If I had arrived very late, then I would have gone home late too. HAHAHAHA. With that, given that I'm already done, I then exited the campus.

I had a spontaneous plan of meeting my best friend, and she's just doing something important for a while. So, I decided to just wait for her there, and we both agreed that we'll meet at the Basilica because I’d be visiting the church as well. Going there, I passed by Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral and took photos. As you can see, the lovely sky and clouds complement the beauty of the church. It's way too hot, but I love taking photos more. So here it is, some quick shots.

After stopping for a while, I then walked to Basílica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu. School is very near these churches, so I didn't have to ride; I just walked under the scorching heat of the sun with my diploma holder covering my face.

Then, I finally arrived at the Basilica and went directly to the prayer station where I lit some candles. This is always the first thing I do every time I visit the Basilica. It's not yet crowded given that it's still quite early and there's no ongoing mass. Moreover, I then captured these photos and took a seat, waiting for my best friend.

Basically, while sitting comfortably and chatting with my best friend, we both decided to meet another time because she needed to work on some important papers that were unexpectedly urgent, and it was also almost lunchtime. With that, it had already gotten hotter as well, so I decided to just go straight to the bus terminal to head back home. So, far that's what happened this morning.
