Wednesday walk : To Dompak Island

Greetings everyone.
Some time ago I visited the city of Tanjungpinang, the capital of the Riau island province. The last day before returning to Jakarta, I visited Dompak island, an island connected by a bridge with the city of Tanjungpinang.

The bridge is about 1,5 kilometers long, I tried to walk across the bridge from Tanjungpinang city to Dompak island. When I first entered the bridge I was greeted with a welcome gate on the left and right sides.

A welcome building monument with the architecture art form of boat sails as a symbol and a regional land mark. Entering the island I circled the area, one of which is Dompak island as the capital province.

The province office area is quite large and the building are quite far from each other, it can be seen that the mosque building is on a hill with a quite high mosque tower. The big round about is in front of the office as a park.

There is a regional symbol in the form of a Shield, inside the Shield there are symbol such as rice and cotton which symbolize a prosperous people. There is chain link symbol a boat symbol and other symbols of course have their own meaning.

After visiting Dompak island, the next destination was, to go to tanjung pinang airport, from Dompak island using a motor bike transportation service. A distance of about 17 kilometers, I ordered the plane ticket long ago from Tanjungpinang air port is Raja Haji Fisabilillah.

Before entering the airport gate see a replica of traditional boat complete with sails. This boat replica was Made as a welcome reception to the air port area, not far from the boat replica, there is an air port gate building with a concept that resembles an air plane frame and a local style shape.

After arriving at the air port, I printed a ticket, entered the screening room and went to the waiting room. Then from the information room passengers are invited to enter the air port room.

The travel time from Tanjungpinang air port to Soekarno-Hatta, Jakarta,is approximately one hour and forty minutes. Arrived at the destination at Soekarno-Hatta air port,go to off the plane and walked through the down stairs building corridor to the air port exit.

Because the back pack I was carrying was stored the in plane cabin. Leaving the air port, I walked to the bus stop and looking for a bus bound for Sukabumi city, and the journey took about two hours.
