I always loved online shopping. In fact, it saves time, is more comfortable, and is easier to get through all the products. But when it comes to the traditional way of shopping, where you take one by one the shops that get in your way and look for possible temptations to add to your cart, it's not that fun anymore. Actually, I find this activity quite exhausting.
However, things are the opposite when it comes to shopping in different countries, because, unavoidably, we always end up in shops looking for souvenirs to bring home, or even for simple ingredients to get and prepare something to eat at the accommodation.
And from this experience, I began the "Shop Windows of..." personal series to which I'll add one more post today.
Treviso is a tiny city in the northeastern side of Italy that comes with lots of canals being quite close to Venice. Actually, this place is quite familiar for tourists as it's where the airplane lends when heading to Venice, being needed to take a bus or the train to reach your destination... or not!
When we first heard of this situation, we thought it would turn into a real adventure based on how late our flight was. But then we figured out we could take it as a new opportunity to book our stay in Treviso and spend at least one of the trip's days exploring it as well. In fact, Italy is not all about Venice, right?
Some of the Shop Windows we spotted both during our town exploration but also while heading to a supermarket for food, were placed within some sort of passages that I've first seen in Austria.
Some less common ones were placed on the brick walls as well, which makes me wonder how one can get to the other side and possibly purchase some of these items because we couldn't spot any way towards that direction. Perhaps it's a smart way of promoting some products but have the shops in a completely different place? Could be.
Anyway, our trip happened in November, two years ago. Hence why, you will see so many Christmas ornaments dominating the windows of the shops. We actually ended up entering one of them as there were lots of interesting stuff in there!
But my favourite is the window shop with the old phones, worn-out balls, vinyls, and lots of (g)oldies which feel so nostalgic for most of us.
Still close to the center of the town I also spotted an official Rolex Store. Sadly, the external shutters were hiding all the watches but I'd really have loved to admire some, even just through the window. Unlucky!
Last but not least, on the way home we had to cross through some sort of fish market where even if we found no fish and the proper Shop Windows were kind of missing, I found it too interesting not to include in this post. I hate the smell of fish, but I really enjoyed walking through all the stalls as they all completed the scenery perfectly.

Oh I hate crowds and the long lines that come after it. But if I'm at an outdoor outlet mall I can cope with shopping better.
I feel you!! So much to see in an outdoor outlet when mountains and hiking are your biggest passions. Perhaps the single shop I'd enjoy spending hours into as well!
omg are those bears are humans in costume or just a statue? I love window shopping, I bet I'll have so much fun traveling there soon
They are statues. Not sure about their story but they seemed quite interesting 😅
I like online shopping as well, having to go into stores especially if busy drives me nuts I try to get in get what I need and get out,
but that said I do enjoy window shopping ie just walking by and looking in the windows
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk
Have a great day
Same here! The single stores I have to deal with IRL are the supermarkets but thank God most of them have the selfpay option where you scan your own products, pay, and leave. It's so quick and easy to stay away from the crowd!
I used to go tot he supermarket when they opened at 6AM, hardly anyone there, aftter my surgery when I was limitied what I could do I started ordering for pickup, just order online drive up and park and they bring it out and load it in your car, I liked that and still do that for most of my grocery shopping LOL
How cool is that!
Fun Fact about me: When I see Rolex outlets, I often go to the window and try to see the watches. It's like a larking attitude. I do this activity when I see something interesting but Rolex outlets are on a different level for me...Not every Rolex shop has a front display area but the one that has, you will find me there standing in front of the window 😆
Same!! lol
