It's Wednesday again and I have a very special walk to share with you, for the #wednesdaywalk challenge, initiated by the one and only @tattoodjay :)
The scenery you see in the first picture is on the mountain above the village we are living. It is not far, just a few kilometres of dirty road and you are there. The day was cloudy and pleasant, so we decided to go for the dog walk a bit further than usual. But as you'll see in the last picture, it ended up in a cloudless, hot day. And although we returned home all sweaty, we had a lovely walk!
This part of the mountain used to be cultivated by the people of our village in an era that no-one here had a car and all the heavy works were done with the help of the donkeys. Vineyards, all kinds of fruit trees and vegetable gardens were planted all over the mountain's slope thanks to the hard working men of that era. Nowadays, although there are plenty of machines to help us with the farming works, this magical place is neglected and uncultivated. Only a few still come here, to take care of their vineyards and the rest of the place is growing wild. Of course that means that this is a wonderful place for foraging, full of wild delicacies that @traisto and myself tasted and photographed, with great joy!
All of this happened in Sunday but I have just found the time to put together a proper post! @traisto on the other hand, was much faster! You can see her post here, full of beautiful pictures and many foraging details! Myself I have chosen a more formalistic approach, focusing on the shapes and texture in this feast of nature and less to the information that each picture, inevitably carries.
Can you blame me?
On our way back there was not a single cloud on the sky to cool us a bit but the view was just breathtaking! You can see on the bottom of the picture below, the cemetery (on the right) and the first houses of the village (on the left).
