a late night walk in Baghdad

Hello everyone my name is Farah

And I am here to talk to you about my nightly Wednesday walk. to be honest I wasn't planning on doing a Wednesday walk as I wasn't feeling well enough to go out during the day. But seeing some of the posts here encouraged me to do, so I decided to go out on a walk at 8 PM.

Our neighborhood while full of Muslims has decided to decorate the street with Christmas-themed lights.

The lights were beautiful, too bad the camera wasn't able to take in the beauty of them. Anyway, I decided to walk toward one of my favorite restaurants. I walked outside our building and went in that direction.

It took me quite some time to get there, I guess I should have calculated the distance before going out. I passed by many cars in the streets that were reflecting the lights around, it looked so beautiful.

It felt like quite the long-distance

I passed by the Iraqi Book Fair happening currently. They were showing a picture of a big Christmas tree on top of the building

I considered walking in, but it looked empty so I assumed that it was closing for the night.

Maybe another day.

The weather was reasonable for winter, it wasn't that cold. So it wasn't a hassle to walk that distance. Plus, besides small traffic here and there, the street had little cars in. That would have been different if it was a Thursday walk as that when our weekend starts.

Eventually, I reached my favorite Burger place and had a meal there.

By the time I finished eating dinner, it was late so I decided to take a bus back home.

My trip and walk were very fun and this community was really motivating me to do these walks every Wednesday, thank you for that. I am so glad I had joined this community and aim to post here every week.
