RE: Short walk, big worry...

in Wednesday Walk2 months ago

The peak of the high water wave is expected on Wednesday or Thursday next week.
I hope the rivers will not overflow, except in places where it is controlled.
Water always finds a path, but even in places where it constantly pours there is no harm, if there is a green surface.

I know that Valencia had problems with its river, which they moved and now there are beautiful parks in the former river bed 🙂

Sort:

I don't live in Valencia but I know the city. That transformation has been a wonder.

In Zaragoza, my city, until an international exhibition was held in 2008, the banks of the Ebro River were almost wild. They arranged them to walk through them but they are flooded with floods. It is already taken into account and they cut off the accesses when the water rises.

Almost a week of time is a long time. Are there no dams on the way? That helps to control the flood, even if it does not avoid climbs it can make those damages less.

Today, the level of the Danube in Budapest rose by 1m in 10 hours.
We are waiting for that flood wave in Serbia in the coming days.
We have a dam, but only in the Djerdap gorge, over 100 km downstream.

Sending my best wishes, be prepared and stay safe. 🤞🤞
