Hello everyone in this wonderful community! Walking through Havana, the capital of all Cubans, and visually recreating myself while I walk and observe its parks, buildings and streets full of so much history and traditions, is always a privilege for me as an amazed walker of the interior province.

Despite having been visiting and walking the streets of Havana for quite some time, I really do not know the layout of its streets very well and I do not know the names of many of them either. Sometimes I am surprised to be or pass by some of them that are renowned for different reasons that have given them that outstanding seal above the others.

But some are almost obligatory to travel, as they connect the traffic of vehicles, passengers and pedestrians with different parts of the city.

Others are renowned in capital letters: very important arteries that also serve as references for clueless travelers and for first-timers.

El Paseo de Carlos III It is one of those great streets, a double circulation avenue that begins, if you want to access Centro Habana, at the junction of Boyeros Avenue with Zapata and G Street, and greets, without shaking hands, far away, the also very famous Reina Street, on the opposite side of Velascoain (another one that they little know or ignore). A question that I learned about later, because I always thought that by continuity Carlos III and Queen were the same urban road.

We are poorly accustomed to the fact that all the charms are in Old Havana due to its seductive old age, the historical sites and its beautiful and eclectic architectural ensemble. But outside of that ancient and magical tangle of narrow streets and balconies overlooking walkers, there are also attractive places with a lot of history, sometimes untold.

In Carlos III, just pass Velascoain towards Vedado, and on the right, we are surprised by the modern architecture of the Great Amazonian Lodge, which houses on its ground floor the largest indoor statue of José Martí: the apostle.

With permission from the custodian, I entered and took some photos of this seated sculpture, which before I only observed with interest and respect through the glass of the building. Further ahead, and along the same sidewalk, the imposing "One Hundred Percent Modern Line" building, headquarters of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, is presented in a cubist line that shines with the light of the king of the sun throughout almost its entire journey through the wide celestial arc.

Carlos III, officially on the map of the capital as Avenida Salvador Allende, also has the privilege of counting among its jewels the headquarters of the Joseito Fernández House of Culture, an active cultural institution of a beauty very particular architecture, and with the wonderful Quinta de los Molinos, the rest house of the governor on duty during the colonial period, which housed Generalissimo Máximo Gómez for a time after the end of the independence wars.

And what can we say about the exceptional Carlos III market! Today, the most renowned in the capital, which takes its name from the avenue of the Centro Habana municipality, wide and with varied offerings in its modern structure.

On the Paseo de Carlos Tercero the old is also combined with modernity, preserving in the tree-lined interior promenade and two sidewalks the original elements of public lighting and the busts of different personalities from history. With parks and public buildings that mix with the movement of people, the noise and the speed of cars, becoming one of the most active urban places in the city

¡Hola a todos y todas en esta maravillosa comunidad! Pasear por La Habana, la capital de todos los cubanos, y recrearme visualmente mientras camino y observo sus parques, edificios y calles llenas de tanta historia y tradiciones, es siempre para mí un privilegio de caminante asombrado de la provincia del interior.

A pesar de llevar bastante tiempo visitando y recorriendo las calles de La Habana, realmente no conozco muy bien el entramado de sus calles y tampoco sé el nombre de muchas de ellas. A veces me sorprende estar o pasar por algunas de ellas que tienen renombres por diferentes cuestiones que les han dado ese sello sobresaliente por encima de las demás.

Pero algunas son de casi obligatorio recorrido, pues conectan el tránsito de vehículos, pasajeros y peatones con diferentes puntos de la urbe.

Otras hay de renombres con mayúsculas: importantísimas arterias que sirven de referentes, además, para los viajeros despistados y para los primerizos.

El paseo de Carlos III es una de esas calles magnas, una avenida de doble circulación que comienza, si se pretende acceder al Centro Habana, en el empalme de la avenida Boyeros con Zapata y la calle G, y saluda, sin darse las manos, allá lejos, a la también famosísima calle Reina, en el lado opuesto de Velascoain (otra que poco conocen o ignoran). Cuestión que conocí después, pues siempre pensé que por continuidad Carlos III y Reina eran la misma vía urbana.

Estamos mal acostumbrados a que todos los encantos están en La Habana Vieja por su seductora vejez, por los sitios históricos y su bello y ecléctico conjunto arquitectónico. Pero fuera de esa añejada y mágica maraña de callejuelas estrechas y balcones sobre los caminantes, existen lugares también atractivos y con mucha historia, a veces no contadas.

En Carlos III, nada más que sobrepasar Velascoain rumbo al Vedado, y a mano derecha, nos sorprende la moderna arquitectura de la Gran Logia Amazónica, que alberga en su planta baja a la mayor estatua bajo techo de José Martí: el apóstol.

Con permiso del custodio, entré y le hice unas fotos a esta escultura sedente, que antes solo observaba con interés y respeto a través de la cristalería del edificio. Más adelante, y por la misma acera, el imponente edificio "Cien por ciento línea moderna", sede del Ministerio de Energía y Minas, se presenta en una línea cubista que resplandece con la luz del astro rey en casi todo el recorrido de este por el amplio arco celeste.

Carlos III, oficialmente en el mapa de la capital como Avenida Salvador Allende, también tiene el privilegio de contar entre sus joyas con la sede de la Casa de Cultura Joseito Fernández, una activa institución cultural de una belleza arquitectónica muy particular, y con la maravillosa quinta de los Molinos, casa de descanso del gobernador de turno en la etapa colonial, que albergó por un tiempo al generalísimo Máximo Gómez después del fin de las guerras independentistas.

Y qué decir del excepcional mercado de Carlos III! Hoy, el más renombrado de la capital, que toma el nombre de la avenida del municipio Centro Habana, amplio y de variadas ofertas en su moderna estructura.

En el Paseo de Carlos Tercero también se combinan lo antiguo con la modernidad, conservando en el paseo interior arbolado y de dos aceras los elementos originarios del alumbrado público y los bustos de diferentes personalidades de la historia. Con parques y edificios públicos que se mezclan con el trasiego de las personas, el ruido y la velocidad de los autos, convirtiéndose en uno de los lugares urbanos más activos de la ciudad.

Hay muchas cosas curiosas y de interés en la avenida o paseo de Carlos III, pero son por descubrir en otro recorrido. Por hoy, me tomo un descanso hasta el próximo miércoles. Gracias por acompañarme.
