When the news broke that Hamilton was coming to Manila with Rachelle Ann Go as Eliza Schuyler, I know there was no way I would let this chance slip. I excitedly shared the news on my Instagram story and to my surprise, my high school friend Addie replied. I had no clue if any of my high school friends shared my love for musicals and theatre but turns out Addie and I are on the same wavelength.
Without wasting time, Addie and I decided to watch Hamilton together. It was May when we decided to buy our tickets. I was the one who bought the tickets via TicketWorld. Initially, we went for the convenience of mobile tickets. But then, some friends who'd watched Hamilton already had those cool printed tickets. Addie and I thought, why not grab some physical tickets as souvenirs too?
As the one who bought the tickets online, it was my duty to claim them physically. I reached out to Ticketworld to check if it was doable, and hooray when they said yes. They even gave me a list of Ticketworld outlets (which I really appreciate! saved me some time!). Good thing BGC Arts Center is near.
Did I mention that I am currently working remotely? Working remotely has its perks, and one of them is the flexibility to take a break during the week. I decided to make this into a midweek adventure. After all, a nice walk to BGC Arts Center was just what I needed, a break from my usual home routine, fresh air and a change of scenery. Plus I'm with Wil, who's currently in the Philippines. It sounds like a perfect walk.
As we walked, I couldn't help but imagine how much fun it would be to finally watch Hamilton live.
Upon reaching the BGC Arts Center, we realized we still didn't know where the entrance was. We've been here a lot of times already 😅 We asked the guards and turns out we were on the wrong side. Lol.
We got there, ready to claim the tickets, but no one was inside. Thankfully, the guard informed us that the staff had gone to the nearest bank and would be back soon. The waiting game started but after five minutes, there was still no staff. So, Wil and I decided, why not grab some coffee at McCafe beside the Arts Center while waiting?
I ordered a cafe latte and blueberry cheesecake while Wil went for an iced mocha and a cinnamon roll. You know how it went? I ended up eating the cinnamon roll. No regrets.
After a coffee-fueled chit-chat, we returned to the ticket booth to claim our physical tickets. I paid 50 pesos for the printing and there it was - the physical copy of our Hamilton tickets!
I can't wait to share with you how much we enjoyed watching it live on my next blog!
Until my next Wednesday Walk!
