Hey its Wednesday so lets go for a walk to the old Post and Telegraph Office in Phuket town. πThis place breathes history. In the olden days the river ποΈ was much deeper and wider and the ships π’ could come right up to the post office and the market down the block which is a tourist spot these days. However, even though the old Post and Telegraph Office has been converted to a nice museum I've never seen another person in there besides the lady working there. She was pleasantly surprised to see me too!
Let's have a look!
Firstly, I have to say that the Thai Postal system is really great! I've never had any problems with the post here and even had great success. Now I have to admit this museum is a bit of a jumble of various things thrown together. Items from various time periods are just tossed together but there are some real gems in here! Let's have a look. Oh and for some reason they put the coolest photos almost 3 meters up the wall. Expecting giants are they? For me the stamps were quite impressive as I collected stamps as a kid.π

Now I regret selling my Japanese postal bike. These things are getting more expensive and rarer every year. It took me nearly 6 months to track one down in Cambodia. Send me a telegraph sometime would ya?
Yeah I love those telegraph machines. Who needs the internet after all? I've seen one of those postal bikes for sale but quite small for me I think. Yeah those Cambodian second bikes were great for the market runs. I could never find a place to put my road bike there so the second hand bike was essential.
