Our tour inside VSU campus, our former school was a trip down memory lane. Every corner, every tree, every building and every pathway triggers a feeling of nostalgia as I remembered the people and the unforgettable experiences we shared together. Many things had changed. New buildings were built and some things were gone but the love and appreciation for this beloved school remains the same.
We continued our walk and we were heading towards the gymnatorium and the new oval area. This path led us there.
Perhaps my most memorable path in the campus. I used to walk this course everyday from the dormitory to my classarooms and vice versa. Memories flashed back. I remembered my first day in this school that got me sepanx that I almost cried as I navigate around the campus on my own; the chitchat moments with classmates as we walked towards our classes; and that heart fluttering moment everytime I crossed path with the person that made my heart skip a beat. ☺️
If trees have memories, they'd probably could tell the stories.
Down this path is where a cluster of dormitories are located. These are the upper campus dormitories named after trees for male dormitory such as Mabolo, Molave or Mulberry and flowers for female dormitory such as Sampaguita and Ilang-ilang.
Among the cluster of male dorms is this female dorm called Mariposa (the exception). The only butterfly among the trees and flowers. 😄
This building used to be my home away from home, the Sampaguita dormitory. It is tucked in the foot of the other side of the hill where the cluster of dorms where located, making this dorm seemed secluded in this area facing the mountains. The building beside it in this photo is a new building.
Dorms are managed by the school and so residents need to follow strict house rules like curfew and other rules. Only when I was living here that the word "recommended" connotes a negative meaning while "retained" is a good thing. Recommended means you are advised to look for another place to stay in the next semester while retained means you can stay in the same dorm because you've been good.
Dorm life served me happy memories during my stay in the university. Activities like sportsfest between dormitories, open house, acquaintance or christmas parties with a male dorm partner, and talent showdowns were some fun activities only dorm residents can participate.
Just opposite to this area where the dorms are located are the Institute of Human Kinetics Building the gymnatorium, the new oval and different sports facilities in this wide open space flanked by the hills.

The New Oval
We continued to walk this path leading to that hill where the stage is built.
Ah, this lovely scenery with the trees and a swing. Such a dreamy place.
We reached this crossroads.
The road in front is going up to the Molave Hill and the one on the right is another ascending and descending path which will give you an overlooking view of the oval and leads the way to the Animal Science Department. We took the path on the right.
On the peak of this hill, you'll have an overlooking view of the gym and the oval. What a a wide pespective when you are on an elevated area. Amazing!
We reached the Animal Science Department Building. I was happy to notice the improvement made to this building.
In the vicinity is a ranch where we saw cattles and horses. The birds were getting cozy with the cattles. What a show off of mutualistic symbiosis.
We did not expect to see horses here, so it was a delight to see them. Such beautiful and amazing creatures.
Walking in this area is such a pleasure with beautiful sights of green nature everywhere, fresh and clean air. There are so much beauty around that relieves the stress and make you appreciate nature and life more, adding to my delightful memories here. The reason I always come back to visit this beloved school campus.
That's it for my #WednesdayWalk by @tattoodjay.

It's really a nice place to walk. Beautiful scenery everywhere. Thank ypu sir and all the ebst for 2024 too. Happy new year!
A beautiful and green school compares to the ones in the Metro.
If the trees can talk for sure it has a ton of stories from the students and the experience of each and everyone all throughout the school year.
I am envious that you can stay in your school with dorms, never had the chance to experience it when I was studying haha.
Kaya bumabalik kami lage dito. Nakakamiss ung place. Sobrang relaxing.
Hehe gagawin pa talagang marites yung mga trees noh? 😆
Yeah, dorm life is really amazing and fun. One of the best memories I have while schooling. At saka ang mura ng bayad kaysa mga boarding house kaya dati nagpakabait talaga kami para di matanggal sa dorm.
