I was just wondering if a long walk could inspire an equally long post and a short one, of course, a short post. Maybe it's the other way around or maybe there's no connection.
I think a good writer can make a long story out of a short walk or can concentrate on a walk as long as a summer day in a few words...
I'm not a good writer, but I get a bit lost in words and I think I write far too long posts. I think this comes from my early days in blogging when I could hardly reach the much desired 250-word recommendation. Now, when I easily write over 1000 words I feel better... but it's not good. I need to be more concise, for the sake of readers as well as myself. Now I will try!
A short walk through my favorite park because I need space and I want to look into the distance, I want to see the sky and the lake!
What a city dweller lacks, here I mean in larger cities, is space. Everything is crowded, many buildings are built close to each other, making it increasingly difficult to see the sky. The closest to feeling the freedom of space is parks. My favorite park, Herastrau. I forgot to say, Bucharest, Romania.
The desire to see the sky was totally rewarded. It was a spring day in a winter month. A very beautiful day, with sunshine, a few clouds, and fairly strong wind. A wind that made little ripples on the surface of the lake.
The greatest beauty came from above! The sky and clouds like ships were the surprises of the walk. This whole walk was almost all looking up.
The sun also participates in the beauty around. Nor could it be without its presence.
Anyone who has read any of my posts already knows that I am an island wanderer. I love islands, here I mean the Greek ones, the supreme beauty I know. Unfortunately far too far from where I live. And yet, there is a small island in the lake. Like a toy, but when I look at it, it reminds me of islands. Every time I walk around the park, because of this island, I start making plans (dreams) for my vacation.
Herastrau Park has several qualities that make it my favorite place to walk. It's a big park, it has a lake in the middle and it's close to my house. A walk along the lakeshore is a 4 km walk which together with other paths we walk makes a total of more than 6 km, enough for our daily health needs.
I'll say it again and again, I've found that my main activity lately is... walking. Like all of you, I love to walk, but only now I have realized that walking has become my main mode of relaxation. Slowly, slowly overtaking the other pleasures I still have.
For #WednesdayWalk by @tattoodjay
Great pictures, especially of the clouds and the lake! It looks like a very relaxing walk to come down through the rush of the big city.
Yes, it is. Walking through this park is always a very pleasant experience. Thank you!
I think you have a great way with words in your posts and don’t see them as to long
The way I see it is reading your post you convey feelings related to the places you walk and the photos you share
I enjoy reading them so they never seem long to me
A beautiful walk in the park that island may not be a Greek island but it has a charm to it
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
Thanks, @tattoodjay! You always find the right words of encouragement.
Nah I just say it as I see it
It's great to have such a beautiful place to walk through :)
Yes, it's a great advantage. Thank you!
You are lucky to walk nearby such a beautiful park and lake. I like the photos with sun and clouds, just geat. Sometimes, we can create a story from a walk.
The weather was good in my city as well, however it is now rainy and cold. Have a good day.
"Sometimes, we can create a story from a walk."
Yes, you're right. Some of us try to do a story every week. Thanks and have a good day to you too!
I said so because I do the same. You can check my last post :)
Oh, I'm glad. I'll look, thank you!
Beautiful photos, lovely blue!
I think you write in a beautiful, sincere way and it is always a pleasure @bluemoon to read your posts!
Summer comes after spring, and so do the islands :)
Oh, how beautifully said, it warmed my heart (which will go to the doctor tomorrow)!
I'm not a good English speaker and I'm always afraid of using some word or expression in the wrong way or with another meaning, that's why I'm so happy with your statements. It means I am not wrong too much. Thank you for reading my posts, now I am forced to be even more careful about what I write.
Yes, yes, yes... islands come after spring!
I hope everything will be fine tomorrow at the doctor!
As for your English, I know exactly what you mean! It is what we often say with @fotostef. Who knows what we have said and what others understand! It happens in our language, too, so imagine in English!!! Communication is not always easy! Once I wanted to tell you sth and I asked Stefanos if he knows how it is said in English. He asked me whom I wanted to send the message to and when I said @bluemoon he said that you will understand it anyway! And he was right! I bet an English speaker would be like, what??? Quite interesting, isn't it?
Ah, how nice it is to be together in this English language issue and I'm glad we get along so well!
Stefanos was right, we understand beyond the language, we understand the meaning of the discussion. If I don't understand, I always ask.
Thanks for the encouragement. I don't like the hospital at all, nor have I ever been before (In fact, I was decades ago, when I met some Greek students who were studying in Romania and doing their internship in the hospital. It was 50 years ago)
I really hope everything will be ok tomorrow! Hospitals are awful, but once every 50 years is manageable :)
(A few decades ago many Greeks were studying Medicine in Romania. I guess they still do, but I am not sure.)
Ha, ha... "once every 50 years is manageable!" You're right, I was beginning to think this was going to be my whole life. Four years ago, my mother who was 85 told me that she thought she would live to be 100, and she died a year later. In the last months of her life, I realized she was no longer thinking straight, so to speak.
Yes, I have seen Greek students in Romania even now.
I would definitely prefer to spend the last year of my life (and every year of my life) thinking that I will live to be 100 than worrying too much all the time!
I hope everything went well today at the hospital!
