Hello, dear readers!
Today I share my walk that was on last weekend. We have a real white winter in Kyiv, with snow and frost. But our winter days are usually cloudy, pale and grey. During winter we miss colors most of all. Especially in such depressing situation.
So my friend and I made an outage to the oldest Kyiv GreenHouse complex "Tropical and Subtropical Plants". My friend said that being in nature is good for mental health, and I agreed with her. I've been here before, but this visit was more about changing of scenery and color theme than earning knowledge.🙂
This is a GreenHouse of our National Shevchenko University. It was founded back in 1839 and is actually one of the oldest greenhouses in Ukraine. Its collection of plants includes about 9,000 species.
I haven't traveled since the big war began, and I realized that I miss the sea, palm trees... and stories about tropics too.
Season of granates.
This is Araucaria, an evergreen coniferous tree.
Everyone knows the banana tree.
Another evergreen tree - Laurus. We add its fragrant leaves to many dishes.
Staghorn. In Ukrainian, we call it "Deer's Horn". It can be a houseplant.
And a flower for The End.
Thank you for viewing, and thanks to @tattoodjay for hosting this wonderful challenge!
WOW that looks an amazing greenhouse so beautiful even more so when you visit it on a cold frosty day I am sure
Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk
Have a great day
Wow 😇
I'm so flabbergasted about this place and the way nature has dwelled on it. It looks so familiar with Lekki Conservation Center a place in Lagos Nigeria where tourist from different countries comes to feel and witness.
Is this a tourist site?
I would like to visit her someday because it is so refreshing to the mind.

This is a greenhouse opened for tourists with a guide. Nice to hear it reminds you of familiar places in Nigeria 😉
This is so beautiful. The presence of nature that surrounds it makes me want to bask endlessly in it. Hehe...
