Perhaps the lights and the party will be extinguished for a year, but the memory of a beautiful season is captured in my eyes and in the photographs that evoke moments to live them again.
In the last days of the Christmas season before the Epiphany celebrations, I wanted to take a final stroll, a general tour as if to retain this year of such splendour. I have been celebrating Christmas in Spain for six years and of all those years, this last one, personally, has been the most beautiful, both in terms of decorations, tours, and visualisation of places, including the nativity scenes.
I wanted to go through the different places I have been to and new ones to see if I could discover a treasure. You know I love to explore and find new things.
I started walking through small streets but this time looking up, collecting decorations and seeing their shapes, drawings and how they decorated the place.
As I told you once before, this year I really liked the decorations inside the narrow streets of the city centre. I think the presents, Christmas balls and so on represent this holiday very well and the arrangement of the lights was very nice. I can't help but see the artistic side of it all.
Of course the traditional angels, which look like butterflies bringing good news, take the grand prize for the light show. Everyone crowded around them, every day, the three times a day that it took place. Again and again people wanted to admire all this, it could be called illusion... hope... I don't know, but I saw this phenomenon with my eyes.
Arriving at the constitution square I had a great discovery, perhaps it may seem small, but it was strange, strange.
I saw the grinch in person, he was alone, nobody approached him and he looked sad. But there he was, I don't know why he gets angry with Christmas, but he was there too, I think his heart was illuminated by the lights or maybe the angels were bringing him light.
I took a picture of the tree in the square, but I really wanted the grinch to come out, I don't think he noticed. I will tell you that the costume was great, very well done and the mask was a spectacle.
I bring you proof that the grinch exists and celebrates Christmas.
Then I went to the avenue so beautifully decorated with garlands of lights, that is the second decoration that I have to highlight and that I was fascinated to see this year. Of course before that I stopped by the hotel with the big tree. I have been asked that I am always in awe of everything. I think it is because I look at these things with the eyes of a child.
Life has taught me that everything has its beauty, and all this was overflowing with beauty.
I arrive at the avenue and walk a little through the streets. The cars didn't stop for me to take pictures, only the buses. How thoughtful.
It was so much illumination that it seemed to me to be in a fair, an amusement park and that the lights fell from the sky and everything was magic, I think I repeated that a lot, but it is real.
I look back and the angels wave at me, knowing that they probably won't see me until the next Christmas party.
I walked in the direction of the castles, further downtown, closer to the city park where the decorations were different, but no less beautiful.
I wanted to say goodbye to those palm trees dressed up for the festive season, glittering on top. Every detail was always taken care of, every space, every corner and even the boats seemed to shine brighter in the night.
I wanted to take a great photo of this wonderful historic ship, which has been a great find too, even if it has nothing to do with Christmas itself. At night it looks more like a pirate ship, at least I think so, and I love it.
From the top, having climbed the stairs and in the distance I could say goodbye to the Christmas city on this last walk, abstract myself from everything and just admire so much light, joy and hope.
The view of the castles at night is majestic and I think it is the best way to end this walk, with history, art and lots of light.
Thank you for joining me today, I send you my best regards. See you soon.

I appreciate you taking us on this night tour of your beautiful city
Have a great dayI love your night photos dear friend @avdesing. I'm not surprised that this past year has been your favorite Christmas celebration, given that the lighting and decorations have been unique and beautiful.
I don't know what the next Christmas will be like, but I'm sure it will be as beautiful as this one. Thank you for being with me every day! Have a great Wednesday!
Hi @avdesing, I agree with you that those angels are quite a sight for sore eyes, they are beautiful. The Greench sure got sad seeing the streets of Malaga so Christmassy, although I don't think he is celebrating Christmas (it doesn't look like it to me). And the port, as always looks amazing.
Thank you for this very christmassy walk. I hope it won't be the last one.
A hug @avdesing.
