A walk through windows full of beautiful brushstrokes.

Walks are not always physical, they can also be mental and these can be good for the spirit.

My walks are always very varied, often I discover old streets with shops selling various items. In others I enjoy sunsets by the sea or in a forest, but there are also others in which I am transported to other times and travel through history.

Each artist has a different vision of reality and I believe that each one captures it in the way his or her soul tells him or her to. This walk through the mirrored floors of the Thyssen Museum creates a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy good painting, the good art of another era but which in this case was done in an avant-garde way.

There were times in history when even certain paintings or forms of expression were censored, but many artists sought ways to express themselves and above all to express reality.

Many times artists look for ways out of what has been traditionally developed in history and look for alternatives and different techniques. That is what we can see in this walk full of windows.

In my visits to museums, I see the frames of the paintings as if they were windows to different things that the painters wanted to express. They always want to tell us something. Often they speak of everyday life, sometimes of the festivities of a particular city or country, and sometimes they speak of hidden realities or give us messages. I love works that convey a message or make us reflect.

I like to go through that window that is the frame and enter into unexpected walks, where the author of a canvas takes us into his mind, his heart or his words.

At this time Spain was going through difficult times, every day I like to know more about history, without history we cannot improve, and many artists had to adapt to express themselves, they wanted a change, a modernity that was hidden, but they wanted to make it shine. That's what I see in these paintings.

Censorship and self-censorship has been common in many periods of history, but many people devised ways to deal with it and art is a demonstration of that.

Walking through the immense space of the museum and its corridors I could see some wonderful works, always the temporary exhibition is on the top floor, but even so the place is huge and you could appreciate more than sixty pieces of a beautiful collection.

Some works were more detailed than others, some simple and others showed a great work of perspective, depth.

In each window or frame you could see motifs of nature, cities, the day to day life of the people of a given time and those journeys are beautiful, because through a painting of someone who lived at that time we can see scenes of that life.

On the other hand, some of these canvases showed contrasts of colours which I love and other whole cities painted in detail, amazing. It always reminds me of the time when I was learning about drawing and painting.

Here it looks like I am in a very tall building, on a balcony looking out over the rest of the city.

Then being on a small balcony enjoying reading a book, I like to imagine when I look at a painting.

20240825_165049.jpg

Here I am in a beautiful garden with a water fountain and I love that.

The balcony scenes are repeated and I wonder and the artists painted also looking at windows, but real and what was happening outside.

This kind of walk is relaxing, but at the same time creative and thought-provoking. As long as you learn something from it, it is good.

20240825_170245.jpg

After the walk between windows or paintings I asked if I could sit there and they said yes, it is a good place to rest.

And always before leaving the museum, visitors are offered details to buy, related to the various art exhibitions, both permanent and temporary. There is always something new and I love to see that.

These tours are ideal in cold weather, in winter, when you can enjoy a warm atmosphere and have a good time. I really enjoyed this tour.

Thank you all for joining me on this Wednesday walk. See you soon.

I love wandering galleries and enjoy the feeling of works of art reaching out to me and feeling them inside. Of course, not all of them do that but when one does it fills me with joy.

It's the same for me, I look at each work, some of them call me and tell me something, others maybe not, but it's great to take that walk and connect with them. Thank you very much Becca💗

Hello dear friend @avdesing good afternoon
I love your walks, you always visit beautiful places in the city. The visits you make to the museums are really entertaining
Beautiful shots, I appreciate that you shared this Wednesday walking experience

Many thanks to you for always accompanying me on my walks and appreciating the art! Hugs!😃

How cool that there is a couch where one can rest a bit after a walk through so many worlds that the artworks provide. I very much like these artistic walks, thanks for bringing them to us. ;)
This Friday I will have some free hours between some lessons, so I hope to visit one exhibition that I spotted in Casa de Cultura where I usually buy my coffee (it's my addiction hahaha)

I'm really going to love that! Because there will surely be many many many many photos! Yes!😍

Well, we will see, it's a small hall, the one where the horses were. Now they are gone, and a collective exhibition is on since a few days ago.

I'll be waiting! I love that!.... horses.... well there will be horses again somewhere🤣

Actually, as it is an exhibition of paintings, maybe there is one with a horse, who knows. A quick visit will maybe happen tomorrow and not on Friday, I have some changes in my schedule for tomorrow and Friday. Muy justo con el tiempo, pero intentaré ir ya mañana, tengo curiosidad si encuentro alguna pintura con caballos 🤞

If there are paintings of horses I will be happy and if not, I will be happy too, because it is art and I know it will be wonderful! Don't worry, there is no hurry... good night. I have a bit of a cold, I think I'll rest.😘

It's the season of colds; take care and rest well. My nose started running too this morning.

Wonderful art exhibition. Some of these pictures make me wonder though... 🤔😄

It's true, each one in its own style tells us something, thank you always!🤗

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk

have a great day

It is always a great pleasure, I love hiking and discovering new things. Thanks to you!🤗

Well the works where you show a little bit of nature and how you look at the outside world through a window
can reflect many interesting things of both the artist and the surrounding environment.

That's just it, if you look at them closely you can see a lot. Thank you Monica!😃

An afternoon of strolling and art, how wonderful! I really like your way of appreciating it, you really live each of these works and find a little bit of yourself in them. I also liked that you appreciate a little bit of the history of this new land where you now live, what a great gratitude!...

Being grateful makes me very happy, without that I am nothing... it's wonderful. Thank you always!

A warm walk among great works of art. Among them there is one by Benjamín Palencia that I knew from photos, now I know where it is.

Thanks for the walk.

Greetings @avdesing.

It was a very big exhibition and I loved it! Thank you very much!😃

Hello @avdesing good morning
How beautiful is the city where you live, you have beautiful places to walk and visit. I really like this place you have visited, and all the beautiful works of art
Have a beautiful day

There were too many works, some more beautiful than others. .... I will go to more exhibitions. Thank you very much!

I have peered into all these windows and I feel that beyond the depth of my thoughts when I detail what each one shows, there is a latent desire to walk among their lights, discovering new worlds and surprising me each time in a different way.
Lol. I would have rearranged the sofa cushions before taking the photo. It's part of my OCD.

I have to go see the cushions hahaha I didn't want to touch anything just in case hahaha thank you so much!!!😃

Ah... hahaha it's because I wear gloves.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
