Greetings, my dear walking friends of this community. I hope you are doing well, in good health and well being and that this week will be one of success and blessings for all.
Today, for this Wednesday walk, I want to share with you a part of my walk through the neighborhood La Candelaria, on the street Las Culebras where the Sanctuary Nuestra Señora del Carmen is located.
Saludos, mis queridos amigos caminantes de esta comunidad. Espero que se encuentren muy bien, con salud y bienestar y que esta semana sea de éxitos y bendiciones para todos.
Hoy, para este miércoles de caminata, quiero compartir con ustedes una parte de mi paseo por el barrio La Candelaria, en la calle Las culebras donde está ubicado el Santuario Nuestra Señora del Carmen.
During the tour to know this area of Bogota, where the Primada Cathedral and the Plaza de Bolivar are also located, our guide told us that this temple was designed by the Italian architect Giovanni Buscaglione, with Florentine Gothic style of large columns and arches, abundant decorative elements and crystals, in addition, with Arabic details that make this Sanctuary a relic of La Candelaria.
The majesty of this temple steals the glances and wraps us in a state of peace. Its stripes of brown and cream bricks around the outside and also in the interior, which we could not see because it was closed at the time we passed, give it a lot of showiness.
Durante el paseo para conocer esta zona de Bogotá, en la que se encuentra también la Catedral Primada y la Plaza de Bolívar, nuestro guía nos comentó que este templo fue diseñado por el arquitecto italiano Giovanni Buscaglione, con estilo gótico florentino de grandes columnas y arcos, abundantes elementos decorativos y cristales, además, con detalles árabes que hacen de este Santuario una reliquia de La Candelaria.
La majestuosidad de este templo roba las miradas y nos envuelve en un estado de paz. Sus franjas de ladrillos marrones y cremas en todo el exterior y, también, en el interior que no pudimos ver porque estaba cerrada a la hora que pasamos, le dan mucha vistosidad.

The sanctuary is administered by Salesian priests. Right next to the temple is the Salesian College, it shares the same architectural style, and the entire wall around it has, likewise, the stripes in the same tones of the church.
It was very special to see, during this walk, the Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, an imposing church with its magnificent architecture. It was a moment of peace and reflection in the midst of the bustle of the city and the neighborhood of La Candelaria.
El santuario está administrado por sacerdotes salesianos. Justo al lado del templo se encuentra el Colegio Salesiano, comparte el mismo estilo arquitectónico, y todo el muro que lo rodea tiene, igualmente, las franjas en los mismos tonos de la iglesia, lo que hace de esta calle un lugar muy llamativo.
Fue muy especial conocer, durante este paseo, el Santuario de Nuestra Señora del Carmen, una iglesia imponente con su magnífica arquitectura. Fue un momento de paz y reflexión en medio del bullicio de la ciudad y del propio barrio de La Candelaria.
