Sea tank - armored boat (5pics)

On November 18, i.e. last week on Saturday, I got into my car with my son-in-law and drove east from home. We headed to the Urals. We had 800 km ahead of us. We went to my son-in-law's father. I had never seen him before and we wanted to meet him in Moscow in the summer, but due to various small problems, our meeting did not take place. So we decided to do it now.

The road was quite comfortable, there was light snow at times, but it absolutely did not interfere with our journey.
I was driving the first 500 km. We reached Perm. It is a large city with a population of more than 1 million people. Of course, we drove around this city on a bypass road so as not to stand at intersections and not waste time driving in traffic jams. But we decided to stop by an alcohol store in order to sit at the table for a while with a glass of vodka in the evening.
We also decided to take a walk with our feet and during the walk we came across such a boat.
On the commemorative plaque, we read that this is "The AK-454 armored boat, installed in honor of the labor exploits of workers and employees of the shipyard during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945".



Similar boats were used during the landing of the amphibious assault. These armored boats were fast-moving and supported the landing with fire support. Often these boats were called "sea tanks". The fact is that the main artillery installation was made from the turret of the T-34 tank. A 76 mm cannon was used.






Our walk was short, about 20 minutes. We had to drive forward by car for another 300 km along an unknown road. But it seemed very interesting to me to meet such a monument in Perm, which is far from the seas.
There was nothing else interesting during the walk, there were old Soviet five-storey houses around during the reign of Stalin and Khrushchev.
