We have been given a great gift, and most treat the gift as a noxious weed. The gift is dandelions. They pop up all over our yard. But this beautiful flower is actually a very healthy food and supplement for our health.
I plucked them from the ground, washed them very thoroughly, then placed them in the dehydrator. What we are left with is a completely crunchy plant.
Because we are using this as a tea, I chopped them up, (leaves, stems and roots) and put them in a Mason jar.
When I was finished, the mason jar was full and ready to use. What an amazing gift!
Dandelion
This plant is found on every continent, so it must be useful for people on all continents! It got it's funny name from the French "dents de lion" meaning "Teeth of a Lion." Not sure where that idea came from, although the leaves do look a little like lion's teeth.
It's official name is "Taraxacum Officinale" whch means "For medicinal purposes".
The plant is harvested and used as a coffee substitute. It also has the reputation as a diaretic, which is why the French also gave it the nickname "pissenlit" or "bed wetter". Hopefully we won't have THAT problem!

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin
We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.
No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13
Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny
Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.
Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books. I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

"Politicians like problems because they can claim to have solutions... but their solutions often create even more problems."
I have never tried it, but I have heard about it. My husband has had a salad with dandelions.

So many people think of this plant as a "weed", but in reality its a health supplement! Thank you for the curation. !ALIVE
I've had them in salads, and they were pretty good. I hope they benefit your family's health!
I have a little girl with kidney issues, so this along with other plants and supplements will help - but this plant is free! !ALIVE
Free is the best price tag of all!
How bad are her kidneys?
Not terrible, but she is experiencing reoccurring bladder infections and we think it has to do with her kidneys.
I let dandelion grow unrestrained in my little garden. My neighbors probably do not like it very much, but every single part of the plant is edible, and very good for you. I like to think that it is also good for my soil, by purifying the soil of toxins just as it purifies our bodies. It is also one of the earliest spring flowers, and attracts many bees and butterflies. And it is beautiful! I don't know why it has such a bad rep. It's one of my faves.
I believe it does purify the soil of toxins, which is why when we see fields filled with them in early spring, so many other plants follow all summer long. If it can clean up soil, how much more can it clean US up! !ALIVE
Great idea to dehydrate it and use it in a tea! We have a few around here, but whenever I see the puffy heads in town, I grab them and bring them home to try to get more to grow around here! Ha!
Interesting to see
