Hello friends from the underwater world!🐬
We are a new community that will continue to do our best to showcase and bring quality posts that highlight the importance of our underwater world🐟. We appreciate your posts! It has been very pleasant to read in detail all the information it contained. Curations are handpicked on behalf of the Aquatic Sentinels Community.
The aquatic environment offers us a totally different world from the one we know normally. Only in the sea we find thousands of described species and possibly there are many others to discover.
Aquatic and marine life offers us multiple topics of interest:
👉Biology
👉Taxonomy
👉Ecology
👉Genetics
👉Behavior
👉Reproduction
👉Bioacoustics
👉Relationship with human beings
👉Animal welfare
👉 ...and many others!
Remember that the Aquatic Sentinels Community Purpose is:
"Share the underwater world with everyone🦀"
That is, working together, where both Aquatic Sentinels and our subscribers can share quality information in favor of aquatic species and their ecosystems.
We are pleased to present the publications that have received curation in this period of time, the authors have done an incredible job sharing with us very valuable information:
Post: diodontidae
Autor: @keuudeip
📍Sumatra, Indonesia
"Diodon hystrix is a slow swimmer distributed in tropical and subtropical seas throughout the world, living in coral reefs, underwater caves and various rocky areas that offer protection. Because it is a bad swimmer, it is easy to catch. But there are at least three that can keep them away from potential predators. In danger, it swallows water to make itself larger in volume. That's the first step. Immediately after, the second step, is to lift and straighten the spines. Their body such as the liver, skin and some others, it concentrates tetrodotoxin, a potent neurotoxin, which is very dangerous."
Post: The techniques that starfish use to feed themselves are incredible!⭐️
Autor: @juanbg
(this post works as an example from AS posts)
"What is the first thing you think of when you see a starfish? Maybe you think of their vivid colors, that they are cute or maybe you think that they are slow to move. In general, we always see starfish as "harmless" beings. Have you ever wondered how they feed? because at some point they have to eat!"
Post: World day of the 🐢🌊 Sea Turtles / Dia mundial de las 🐢🌊 Tortugas Marinas
Autor: @actioncats
Image by @actioncats made in Canva
"Of the seven species of sea turtles, six are in danger of extinction. During the program, characteristics of each of these species were briefly presented, so that users could learn a little more about the beauty and characteristics of each one of them by sharing images on the server.
It is a great pride to see the efforts of the authors in their incredible posts!😄👏
