Flowers !
What is there not to love about flowers? I can't think of one thing.
It's barely into winter here and yet, the last 4 days have been nearly 70 degrees outside, warm but still overcast and dreary looking.
Although it doesn't feel like winter (but maybe tomorrow !) it certainly looks like it, gray skies and bare, leafless trees between the evergreens.
And I am already dreaming of spring !
I took these photos of some of the beautiful fresh flower bouquets that were delivered to my home throughout the summer and early fall. A local woman decided to grow flowers and for this first year, she had several offers, one of which was for an upfront fee, you could have flowers delivered to your doorstep every week or every other week. She grew such beautiful flowers and I enjoyed it so much.
Some I kept for myself and other's I shared with my Mother and Sister. Sharing made them doubly fun.
Every time I search through my photos for any other kind of photo, I have to stop and enjoy these again. Every time too.... I long for spring when it's time for flowers to come back here again.

I thought it was a lovely idea too, the flower subscription. In old movies lots of times some rich lady had fresh flowers spread through her house all the time. I always thought that would be wonderful. I was so surprised when I saw the opportunity to have fresh flowers all the time (for a while). It was a reasonable rate, but was her first year. I will be curious to see if she still offers the service this coming year and what the difference in the cost will be.
I am certainly not a fan of winter either ! .. .and that is putting it lightly.

Oh no, don't wish sweet winter away. It was a high of 81 degrees here today and I was irked with Mother Nature - all things in their time and place, you know? And today was not the time and place for 81. Mother Nature was very confused :)
But we both are getting the cold front tomorrow, so yay for winter! Those flowers will be returning before you know it.
I get a farm bag delivered weekly, but flowers are not an option. How nice! I hope she will be offering the same for you come March.

At 4:30 am this morning I woke up to thunder and lightening, so from then till time to get up, I dozed off and on as loud wind and the sound of hard rain kept me from a solid deep sleep. It's still going on. I guess it's the cold front whisking in. After 5 days or so of nearly 70 to 72 degrees winter days....LOL... at some point today it is suppose to be down to 21 and possibly a little snow. From summer to winter in a day !
Who made Mother Nature mad ?? Seems she's on a rampage.
You got all the excitement. There was some wind when I went to bed at 2AM, but never seemed to really get a proper storm here. Yes, odd having summer and winter smashed together. Hope you can find something pleasant in that 21 and a little snow.
Since I replied last time, right before 10 am it started to snow so hard ! It is still snowing, but has slowed down a lot. it was covering some of the grass and perching on everything else, but the ground is way too warm, so when it stops, it will disappear pretty fast. Sure has been pretty ! I tried to put a photo here, but evidently Hive is glitchin or peak or whoever. :)
It sounds lovely. Enjoy it for me. Zero chance of that happening here. It is a pleasant low of 48 tonight. I've got my grandma's quilt out like let's do this! lol.
It is supposed to get down to 21 here tonight. Maybe I should throw another blanket towards the bed myself !
I highly recommend it. The best dreams are under the quilts of your ancestors:)
