"Information is power" and whatever possesses power is known as something important. Yeah!! Information is very important, it is one of the most valuable assets for individuals and nations at large, it is said that "when you are not informed you are likely to be deformed".
There are different ways information can be derived and that brings me to the topic of discussion:
The news is a medium for people to stay informed about everything happening around them and it can go as far as getting to know whatever is going on in the nation where one is based. Like my aunty will say "So when they say everyone in the country should run we'll all be aware and partake in the running exercise" That is what the news does, keeping us updated with information.
Before now, information was hard to get but with the way technology has advanced whereby birthing social media and some other means of news outlets, information is at our fingertips now, we don't have to tune in our television to the news channels before getting to know whatever is happening in the world. With our smartphones, we can bring the world closer to our doorstep "information".
How often do I tune in to watch the news?: I can't remember the last time I tuned in to watch the news "ooh I remember" So little story: I went to visit my aunt and her husband was in the sitting room watching the news, since I was seated there as well, I decided to watch it, not like I was concentrating, I was busy with my phone and whenever he complained of something, I would raise my head and ask him "what happened" then he would explain everything to me "that was the last time".
Believe everything you hear on the news at your own risk, motivational speakers said "We have to take risks in life" This particular risk is the one I'm not willing to take in life, most of the information we hear on the news is filtered to benefit whoever that is behind it. I don't believe everything I hear on the news though some can be true to an extent but then not entirely everything.
Imagine just yesterday I heard the price of the fuel wants to go back to normal because the Messiah refinery we were all waiting for, to come save the nation from the scarcity of fuel is about to produce petrol. Now just a few hours later I started hearing different stories about the actual story that was told "How do I even know the actual story?" Why can't we hear one story and immediately manifest the positive aspect of it rather we are still faced with the realities of the drama we witness every day.
I feel like a lot of things are being kept from us, I've come to understand that no matter how powerful information is, you might not be able to get the full knowledge from certain information "which means" some information can't be disclosed, just like social media, they show you what they want you to see and not what you want to see.
How can someone ever get the right information when it is mixed with lies, if you want to get the right information you have to develop a skill that will enable you to discern through the lies that people spread as information. I rest my case

You're right, the news can be streamed even on our mobile devices which is a plus to technology and information access. The news media is often manipulated especially to those sponsoring the news. Maybe the government news are usually true even though they have their own bias to the government.
