One of my best memories of the yuletide season is one Christmas we spent in Port Harcourt, anytime I think about it, I just smile because it was one of those moments where everything felt light, happy, and complete, even if just for a short while.

That year, my aunt decided that Christmas would not just be the usual stay at home, eat rice and sleep kind of celebration, she wanted us to actually enjoy the season, so she and her husband gathered all of us their nephews and nieces and told us we were going out, just hearing that alone already lifted our spirits, You know how as children or young adults, the idea of going out during Christmas already feels like luxury.
We went around Port Harcourt visiting different malls and fun centers, for some of us, it was our first time stepping into certain places like the genesis mall, Big treat and alot more fun places, so everything felt big and exciting, the lights, the decorations, the music playing everywhere , it really felt like Christmas, everywhere was lively, people were smiling, laughing, taking pictures, and just enjoying themselves, It felt like the whole city agreed to be happy at the same time.
And i remember walking into one of the malls and just being amazed, the air conditioning alone was a blessing, because December heat can humble anybody, we walked around, window shopped, laughed at random things, and teased each other like we do, nobody was in a hurry, nobody was stressed, it was just pure vibes and enjoyment.
The fun centers were my favorite part, We played games, some of us tried rides we were scared of, and others just watched and laughed, there was a lot of shouting, try am na! and no, I no fit! those small moments , the jokes, the laughter, the shared fear and excitement are what made the memory special, nobody cared about phones or social media, we were just present.
Food also played a big role, because is it really christmas if food is not involved? we ate different things snacks, fast food, and all those little treats that felt extra special because it was Christmas, see It was not about the price or how fancy the food was, it was just the fact that we were eating together, sharing, and enjoying every bit of it.
What really made that memory stand out for me was the togetherness, everyone was included, nobody was left out, my aunt made sure we all felt loved and considered, as someone who understands how hard life can be sometimes, especially as you grow older, that kind of effort means a lot, it showed me that Christmas is not really about how much money you spend, but about the memories you create with the people around you.
Now that I am older, with more responsibilities and my own kids, Christmas feels different, It is more about planning, budgeting, and making sure everyone is okay, but that Port Harcourt Christmas reminds me of a time when joy was simple, laughter was easy, and happiness didn’t require too much thinking.
That memory stays with me because it represents what the yuletide season should be love, togetherness, laughter, and moments that stay with you long after the season is over, Even now, anytime Christmas comes around, a part of me still goes back to that day, walking through malls, laughing with everyone and just being happy without worries.

This season was a lot better when we were younger and had people like your aunt doing the sponsorship not now where we do the sponsorship ourselves.
It was truly o.
Christmas is always fun when it’s done together as families. The togetherness is what matters because that is a kind of love that makes it worthwhile.
Yeah that feeling when you all are together. Feels just right
Being an adult with kids truly requires one to think a lot and plan during times like this. I wish you and your kids a happy holiday, I hope you guys have lots of fun and laughter.
Thank you 🙏
WOW! This is actually special.
I think I should also consider going to a mall for Christmas celebration.
Thanks
May be fun for you all I guess.
