Switching courses - Hive learners

in Hive Learners2 years ago

Hello,

We all have some fine interest in a few subjects and domains in which we want to dedicate our entire life, practicing it. We develop this interest over a good amount of time, from schooling life we identify our interests. My interests were a lot at the time of deciding. I wanted to do something in aerospace at the same time computer programming languages, writing and teaching also fascinated me as career options. So let's see which one I selected and what I am doing now.

Before deciding on a career

I was against computers and their use of it. I always had a perception in my childhood that computers will take over a lot of jobs and then I won't be able to have one. Now I find it as a superficial or hyper estimation. We all do such mistakes. Later in high school, I attended a few computer classes and developed my interest in them. From hate to love, I was able to see myself as a computer nerd in few months after it. After understanding the qualification criteria for the computer courses in my nearest university, I got two options Bsc Computer science and Bsc IT.

Bsc IT became my main interest and course

After spending a good time in selecting one, I opted for Bsc IT. I wanted to have practical exerience of Information Technology domain as well as theoretical knowledge. Computer science was best suited for reasearch and innovation purpose whereas IT is best suited for job and IT development practices. It took 3 years for its completion and after that I got an opportunity in the startup company as an intern.

Switching to national services

During the internship, I started helping one of my fellow collegaue who was studying at that time as well. Soon I developed interest in her subects and felt like a change can be possible. I started finding out job opportunities that can be possible by doing similar subjects course. I found out that arts subjects related to human and social science forms the basic syllabus for national services.

Have to decide between my old interest and new interest

I was in mid while deciding which one to pursue as I was gearing up for higher studies in IT. I went for the entrance exam for masters degree and got the admission but however I felt that my guts wants some thing different, it wants a change, it wasnts a national service opportunity. After taking guidence and talking to several persons, I finalized and took my leap of faith and that was to change the course. Now at the moment I am pursuing the path that leads me to the national services.

So this was my journey till now and I will love to hear that whether you faced the similar instances in your life, what you decided and hou you are doing..

Thanks
