RE: Computer engineering

The computer chips that is the main power house of every mordern electronics you can think of is built by computer engineers.

I don't know what they teach in computer engineering in your country but from where I am, they are limited only in using readily available chips/technology (e.g. logic gates) in terms of hardware design. I have a lot of friends in the computer engineering field and they don't teach circuit design using discrete components.

The circuit design that can be used in the construction of chips or IC's are more on a the side of an Electronics Engineer. And the actual chip (or die as they call it in the semicon industry) is built by other engineers specializing in IC's - mainly Material Engineers.

Thanks man for this. Actually, computer engineers has a lot to do with elect elect. I did a lot of electronic courses along computer hardware and software courses.

Since some computer engineers can write software and firmware for embedded microcontrollers, and various designs like circuit boards, VLSI chips, analog sensors, designing mixed signal and so on, I now generalized it which shouldn't be. I would say my use of word in that contest was too bold 😂

Most microchips are designed by companies and most of them are mainly into electrical electronics engineering stuff with some touches of computer engineering too. Thanks for this man.

I admire that you did not just focus on the subjects written in your specific course outline. It is the way it should be - let us learn things that may help us improve not just in our specific field but as a person in general. 🙂

I finished my Electronics Engineering and has also experience working under the Engineering department of Texas Instruments (Semicon Company). I am not directly practicing my profession now. Once I opened my mind outside the box of being a "purest", I don't feel the need or pressure of having to strictly be an Electronics Engineer. I am now just an ordinary person who has a knowledge and experience in the field. 😁

You are right. Thanks a lot.
