The first thing our mind will go to when considering the rural environment or community is the peace ☮️ of mind the surroundings gives to every individual when compared to the bustles the urban brings to us, as we decided to migrate from rural to the urban.
Everyone of us must have tasted how good our rural environment was while we were growing up because I can still remember the moon 🌙 light play, dance 💃 of my childhood with friends, stories under the moon 🌙 light and how festivities use to be enjoyed so much as we go visiting each others houses. All these will never be erased from my mind. These were the days that taught every child the memories of where you are coming from.
And to this very question : “URBAN OR NATURAL? We can see from just a glance the huge difference between these two environments and of what makes each place being loved than the other when making a choice because decision making here is a personal choice.
The Rural Environment:
I lived part of my childhood days in the rural area with my parents because they were forced to come home from the northern part of Nigeria 🇳🇬 during one of those early days of wars before I was born and this made them to give birth to me in the rural area being my native land. I grew up among other children, did part of my primary schooling and tasted how calm and peaceful the rural area is because its almost like a kindred of a set of people in a village. But some years after , we went back to the north again because my father as a businessman was treading as a palm oil merchant and the north was indeed where the boom was then.
The Urban/City:
So going to the urban environment from rural was something so exciting to me due to how I have read in many of my school readers books 📚 how the urban is developed with especially of basic amenities like water 💦 board for supply of water, electricity, good roads that are tarred , more availability of transportation, people of different languages and cultures, and all these are what the rural area does not have. And many who wants to relocate or migrate to the city 🌆 must have seen the big huge difference of the two said environment.
Environmental Influences:
I have lived in these two different environments and can say that each of them has a lifestyle impact upon our lives and this is why we as individuals chose our part to life through how our environments has influenced us. The rural area which is more of a peaceful and quiet place is where many will want to choose, but this is dependent on the kind of dreams we have , may be just settling as a farmer 👩🌾 because this is the only avenue for farm produce and other agricultural products.
But for those who has bigger dreams in life, like becoming a musician 👩🎤, movie makers, doctors 🥼, architects and other professional dreams, the urban environments is where this dreams are to be pursued and achieved after one has graduated from Jo school. And to many who also wants to travel 🧳 to other countries, the process starts from the city. Because people leave the rural area to migrate to the city 🌆 for bigger dreams.
Advantages And Disadvantages;
Dreams:
The rural area is such a peaceful place with lots of nature and quietness that one will love ❤️ to leave in and enjoy peace, but it’s practically for those without big dreams. Its suitable for farmers who want to remain in crops and agricultural.
Bigger dreams are only achieved by those who leaves the rural environment and moves to the city for greener pastures, especially those who studied some professional courses.
Technology/Internet:
Many in the rural areas today are not conversant to the use of the many technologies that the world 🌎 are enjoying because they are not well aware of how to use them due to of how they are limited to some learning and restricted to even some primary informations. The use of Internet a very big issue since some Internet providers don’t see the rural areas as number one target.
The urban environment is where first hand informations on the use of any technology are created in many ways, reaching out to everyone especially to those who they know needs it most. Internet being the only means the people and achievers are using 247 to be on the go in making sure they are not left out on new updates.
Awareness:
Innovation and the 21st century era is full of all kinds of awareness which is why the #Web3 is going to be the next generation boom and many who are starting now to catch in it will definitely not be left out. And its either they are on the way making it known to their children or waiting for them to grow up to an understanding age before involving them because that is how the next generation will take over for that big magnitude significances. And this awareness is only coming from those in city 🌆 who has access to information through the internet.
However, I have been living in the city 🌆 since when I was 8 years old and loved the city so much because of the huge difference between the rural area and the urban. I don’t think I will ever want to live in the rural area again after my kids days that there was no water corporation, electricity, internet access and most of all, the boom of innovation and technology. It’s becoming more clear that better things are still on the way which I believe my children are the ones that will enjoy it most. Why go to the rural where I can’t be able to give them the opportunity to achieve their dreams😴?
Its a pity the days and cultures of our forefathers are being neglected but that is the only way we can embrace innovation the more.
