Happy weekend friends and community 🥰❤️. Hope we all enjoyed the working week and warmed up to a beautiful and restful weekend.

Here we go again today on the third edition of the #hivelesrners featured content titled this time “Not Just Drugs”. A very important topic that concerns health, wellbeing and protection in general.

Drugs are not something we should joke with because sometimes we might think we are doing good to ourselves, family or loved 🥰 ones buy dashing out to the pharmacy to buy drugs to help for treatments. But drugs are only helpful when its on proscription especially when we are dealing with severe health issues.

Although many of us believe that when we have minor illnesses like headaches, body pains, cough 😷, cold 🥶, etc, we can purchase over the counter drugs, but its very important we watch how we administer these drugs to avoid overdose that causes danger and health threatening because this is case many have faced including myself.

My Encounter With Chloroquine:

When I was a teenager who relied on her parents for treatment anytime I was sick I never new how drug works, so my mother will just take me to the pharmacy for prescriptions and treatment. And then I usually have malaria too often as a student. And it happened that anytime they prescribe and give me this drug called chloroquine for the treatment of malaria , I will start to panic 😱 because immediately I start taking this very drug I will not be able to sleep 😴 for the next three to four days. Why you may ask, this drug will react all over my body and will be scratching me seriously 😳. The worst of it is that I will not regularly take my bath 🧼 because bathing is adding fuel to the fire 🔥. The scratches tends to increase that sometimes I will start crying 😭. Oh my God.

They said he who wears the shoes 👠 knows where it hurts because during those days I see myself sometimes not wanting to let my parents know when am feeling sick as am always trying to avoid treatment from chloroquine which I felt was the major malaria drugs then not like now that we have others that does not react in ones system. And the problem here too being that the pharmacist sometimes can not take proper actions of knowing which drugs react in peoples system.

As an adult and parents now, I make sure to know the right proscription am getting for the family and myself because this era has also brought much awareness to all of us especially when it comes to how important it is to know dangers relating to drugs and when to see a professional for treatment of illnesses of serious diseases. Its also important we know how some drugs react in our bodies and make the pharmacist or our doctors understand why they are not good to our system. After I realized how bad chloroquine was for me as I was growing up, I made my parents to see reasons why I should stop taking it before it harms my system.

In conclusion, it’s always important we know when to avoid drugs that can bring harm to us because its better to prevent things before they cause us serious health issues.

This is my entry to the #hiveleaners featured content of week 138 topic tagged “Not Just Drugs”.

Indeed prevention is sure better than cure. I had same experience while growing up too, I hardly open up to my mom whenever things are not right but that wasn't the best for me glad it's all in the past.

My dear, back then I heard so much about chloroquine and how it scratches people's body and so I never accepted to take it atall. Imagine not being able to bath when u want due to the scratch.. someone would be treating an illness and creating a new one...that's how I see chloroquine

Glad you pulled through my dear

Are you on discord?
