Today I was sharing some life principles with a young man around the age of 16. He is just starting out in the university, and I felt to share with him some principles that he should carry on with him that would make his life smoother even after university. In this post, I will be reflecting on those things that I spoke to him about; hopefully they will have an impact on others as well.
The Value In Scarcity: People Value What They Can't Easily Have
Here is what I said: When an item in the market is scarce and difficult to find, what happens to the item? He replied, The price increases. Hence, it is the same thing with your presence. Don't make yourself too accessible, or your value and respect as a person will be lost. I said that you should learn to spend time in solitude, working on himself and building himself as a person based on his goals and skills. At the same time, learn to have a balance between hanging around with friends and being in a state of solitude.
Don't stay too much in solitude at the same time because building strong connections with others can contribute to personal growth. We cannot survive alone, and at some points in our lives we will need people in our lives to grow. The idea is to maintain a good balance.
The Spiritual Controls the Physical: Taking God First During Your State Of Solitude
During your state of solitude, you spend time on self-improvement, but before doing all that, handing everything to God, taking God first and putting it all in his hands will help you achieve results far greater than your effort.
I spoke about my belief that the world is more spiritual than it is physical. Most battles are first won in the spiritual realm before being actualised in the physical. If you can kneel in prayer, start with gratitude and ask for the things you want and the things you pray against. You are putting yourself ahead.
Remember, faith without works is dead. Stay locked in, put the best effort you have into your goals, and watch how things turn out well for you.
The Power of Words: Attracting Positivity to Your Life
Many people do not know that we attract what we think and the words we say. Our external factors are a result of the state of energy of our internal system. Simply put, if we keep a negative mindset, we attract negativity to our world. The best way to live life is to speak positivity to your life and have positive thoughts always.
I brought an example of how heaven and earth were created and also how man was created. Man was created in the likeness—image—of God. This means we are godlike. Also, heaven and earth were created with words. What does this mean?
With our words alone, we can create our own world because we have that godlike ability in us to speak things to existence by staying positive, especially in our words and affirmations.
What You Chase, Will Most Likely Flee From You
I said, Don't chase but attract. How do you attract? Spend more time on yourself to grow and have value to offer. Then you don't have to chase people or money; instead, people will be attracted to you and will be willing to give what they have for the value you can offer.
The moment you start chasing something, you will end up losing yourself to it and the value you place on yourself to what you chase. Apparently it keeps fleeing from you, and you begin to see what you chase to have more value than you do.
This does not mean you take things lightly, you don't actively put in the efforts, and you don't patiently wait for things to turn out well for you. Feel free to pursue your goals, your values, your growth, and all other intrinsic possessions.
Act Of Service: Don't Leave An Environment Without A Mark
I spoke about acts of service and being a help to people around. Wherever you find yourself and you see you can contribute to making the place better, then make sure you do it. Or wherever you see you can help people, or even volunteer to be of service to others or the community, do so. It builds good relationships and also builds your reputation as a person.
Also remember, not everyone needs your help. Uphold respect for others, their boundaries, and their decisions while trying to render help.
This is a summary of what I said to the young man today and more. At the end of the discussion, he thanked me, and we exchanged contacts. I decided to write it here because it is something that I believe will be beneficial for more people to read and be impacted.

That young lad is lucky to hear all these valuable lessons at such a young age. Hopefully, he will put it to great use.
Everything you said is true; thank you for sharing and for trying to put the young boy on the right path.
Yeah one of the things I love doing is giving advice. I saw the young lad and I don't know, I had the feeling to speak to him and I am glad that I did.
All those mentioned points are easy to say but hard to maintain in life at the same time it is not so easy but I think if we train ourselves then it's possible and making a balance can help us to lead a happy life. I want to say the mentioned principle is also the secret to a happy life.

yeah it is not easy but it is possible if done with intentionality. I am trying my best to put these same words that I told the young lad into my life as well.
