The Humans make humans the way they are is very true to a great extent. All things being equal, humans are shaped by the company they keep. When you are surrounded by good people who always care for one another, good thoughts become your companion and you keep looking for ways to get better in doing good, but, when you're surrounded by people always looking for ways to treat others poorly, you may eventually find yourself seeing it as a norm. That! Is the environmental factor we keep talking about.
Nonetheless, there are always exceptions to everything.
After I was scammed in 2018, I needed to do a welcome back on my SIM card because that was the SIM card linked all my important accounts(my bank account, jamb, university portal, BVN and many other things) but the challenge was that the SIM card was given to me by my father, hence, he's the only one who is authorized to do the welcome back.
It wouldn't be a problem if my dad was around at that moment but unfortunately , at the time of this, he was away for a work assignment and won't be home for two months but then, I needed to rectify the school-related activities because the deadline was already in a week time.
I didn't know what to do but then, decided to give a try by selling my story to the customer care representatives. I dressed up and headed to the MTN office, queued up and was patiently waiting for my turn.
Soon enough, it was my turn and I walked in, greeted the customer care representative there and told him that I needed to do a SIM welcome back. He asked me to call the number which I did and he told me I wasn't the one who registered the SIM and would need the person that registered it for the welcome back, that's him referring to my dad.
Disheartened, I stood up and was about to leave leave when he noticed the desperation and loss of hope on my face, the representative asked me, what happened?
I narrated the whole incident to him and he decided to help me.
He did the SIM welcome back and bought five hundred naira airtime for me which is almost three thousand naira today.
Ironically, the incident that led to the situation was one I never expected. After generating my school fees remitta to go and pay the required amount in the bank, I was approached by a man in his early thirties looking all confused about his destination. Out of goodwill, I decided to show him the way unknown to me that he had ulterior motive of scamming me.
After that incident, I decided never to help a stranger out with direction ever again but that singular act of kindness I was showed by someone I didn't even know in the MTN office changed the narrative once again.
Life has a way of surprising us when we least expect it, while the kindness if a stranger in an unexpected place reaffirmed my lost faith in humanity reminding me that selfless acts still exists, It is always a painful thing when the good you do puts you in a tight spot where you keep wondering if it has become something bad to do good but In the end, it still pays to do good.
The little challenges that comes with doing good may sometimes want to make us derail from that path but would you live the life of someone's else?
Thanks for reading and have a nice day ahead 👍

This says a lot, quite a lot because the disadvantage of doing things too in much is that you be taken for granted and some others can go on a stretch to ask or want to know where you get your resources from...
Doing good is great but too much of everything is bad
There's no doubt about that. Everything in life should all be about moderation I guess
