Taking care of the body is essential; spirituality is not intended to be punitive to the body.
Sound Spirituality Is Health To The Body.
I have seen folks who maltreated the body in the name of Spirituality.
I have also seen individuals who commit suicide indirectly because of their notorious religiosity.
The Bible is one of the books that, when not rightly divided and explained, can be tools that destroy instead of build lives.
Everyone on planet Earth needs the body to fulfil God's will and purpose on Earth, but many do think that Spirituality is against the body.
No! Spirituality is not against the body but needs the body to complete its mission here.

What, then, is Spirituality?

Spirituality is primarily a matter of the heart. It's an act of being inspired by the Divine to do what is right and good.

If Spirituality is an act, then it needs the body for action.

CLARIFYING CARNALITY AND THE BODY
So many are on the side that the body is a carnal thing; they blame the body for their shortcoming for not doing what God gave them to do on earth.

It is pertinent to know that the body is not you, but you own and lives in the body.
The body is like the house you own and live in.

WHAT WAS GOD'S PLAN FOR THE BODY?

God did not make the body to destroy it later but Man exchanged the body for death when he disobeyed God in Genesis 3:19

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

The body falls to the earth when the glory that it wears was robbed of by the enemy of man(Satan).
Seeing the body as being carnal is the result of its fallen nature, but carnality does not start from the body.
The body is the interpreter of who and what a man is.

Man is a Spirit, has a Soul and lives in the Body.

The Soul that lives in the body is an introducer of carnality to the body.
Carnality, in its real sense, is the state of the soul that plays out through the mind to the body.
The body is not a sin.
Since Man was created to be guided by the Spirit, thus Man is as healthy as the spirit that guides him; that's why- Sin is the spirit of Satan that uses the body and contaminates it.

Some months ago, I was in a Bible study group where the teacher was discussing the topic: Mr FLESH.
The way he was explaining it portrays the body to be guilty of every bad thing that happens.
I now ask the question- Is God against the body?
Why did God make the body for us?
Why would the body be doing things that are harmful to itself if the body was in charge?
The inadequate answers to those questions make the body innocent of its allegation.

The body is the temple where either God, Satan or Man can operate.

1Cor.6.19 - 20
What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which is God's.

He who lives in the body is the compass that gives direction to it.
When a man neglects God, satan wants to play the role of God to such and to the contamination of the body.
For God to bring man to its original plan- God has purchased the body through the death of Christ Jesus, In the end, He will show us what our original body, which shall not see corruption, looks like.

When a Man is revived in the spirit through God, such a person can practice Spirituality by constantly aligning the soul to his spirit.
It can be healthy for anybody who understands what God have for him/her.
The spirit has full capacity to lead the body and void contamination such as sickness, diseases, etc.
The spirit can serve as a vitamin that can fight the bacteria of sin.

Man ought to partner with God and take care of the body giving no room for satan (his enemy) to use it and contaminate it.
You must fulfil your mandate on earth.
