WHAT I ORDERED VERSUS WHAT I GOT

in Hive Learnerslast year

Hello my fellow Hivians, how is our day going and hope we are all doing well in our various locations? It is another week of participation and this is week 70 of entry on hive learners platform. Going in line with the suggested topics for this week's edition, I'd be writing on the topic "What I ordered VS what I got". Recently there has been a lot of controversies about what people order online in the likes of shoes, clothes and other commodities and when the goods are eventually delivered to the customer that is when you begin to see a different thing entirely.

You might order for a foldable shoe rack at a high rate only to get a shoe rack toy when you get your order. These things happen especially in Nigeria where we have bunch of dishonest people and they will still be proud of it or maybe find an excuse to justify their wrongs by saying probably the picture has deceived us because images looks quite bigger in pictures than in real life....

Back to the topic, where we're asked to write about adding filters to pictures or over editing pictures made me remember this unforgettable experience I had with a guy far back in 2017.

We met online, Facebook to be precise and we started talking, got along so well even though we haven't seen each other before. He was like 3-4 years older than I am. We shared our thoughts and opinions about life and he seemed knowledgeable. We talked and texted everyday, shared a lot of things virtually and the only thing he refused to share with me was any full picture of him standing or something.

I always wonder why he'd always change the topic when ever I request for a full picture of him or says he's keeping it as a surprise until we meet in person. I wasn't comfortable with such thing so I stopped talking to him for a while, but guy man wouldn't let me rest because he kept calling and texting like never before claiming he misses me.

At the long run, he asked for what I look out for in a man and I told him and vice versa. I included that I'm a lady of average female height and I'd love anyone I'd be with to be far taller than I am, (I think that was why he kept with holding his picture). After a while , he professed his love to me and made his intentions known about wanting to date me. I went ahead to tell him point blank that I won't give in to his request until I either see a picture of his full self or meet him in person (because,he has been avoiding that too) 🙄. He later succumbed and sent me a picture and he appeared tall in the picture, I was satisfied not knowing what was waiting for me in the nearest future.

I later found out that we were applying for the same course in the same university and I felt it'd be an opportunity to meet him in person eventually, in school.

Fast forward to the first day we met in school, we called each other to meet at a specific place, he got there before me. On getting there, I kept passing him by, telling myself that was not the person I was looking for, even though I recognized the face, maybe they look alike 😂. I passed by him for like 3 times only for him to grab my hand the fourth time saying he's the one waiting for me. I disagreed and told him to help me call his elder brother and tell him I was waiting for him😂. Omor, it wasn't funny on that day oo.

After quite a time, I had to believe him, I was so disappointed. Not because he was short, funny enough, I don't criticize people. But, I was disappointed because he made me believe he was a tall person. Little did I know that the full picture of him was an edited picture just to make him look taller all because he wanted to satisfy me. He has a rough kinda face and he had also been sending me pictures with smooth and fine faces.

I went ahead to tell him what he did was very wrong and also advised him to learn to love himself the way he is. He felt sorry, yes, but I decided not to be with him because he was dishonest by over editing his pictures. We're still friends till date and till now we still joke about that day.

Thanks for stopping by my blog 🙏,❤️&💡

Passing him by three times and he was watching you😪
But then how will you tell you go and call his elder brother?😂 That's savage na😅
But then, I understand you were somewhat disappointed.

😂😂
I made the statement out of reflex, no be my fault. Besides, there are some guys that'd send someone to bring in their visitors for them, so I thought that was what was happening until my eye clear 😁

You made me laugh with this article and I like your message at the end about being real regardless of what we look like.

People use filters excessively which is bad, people who will like you for who you are will do so, it's pointless faking to gain their love and lose it when we meet them.

My point exactly.....
