This was Jack’s dying words to Rose when the titanic ship sank and all hope seems lost and Rose was almost giving up…
I started watching movies (bollywood, kdramas, hollywood and nollywood movies) at a very early age, and this was because I grew up in a family where all our savings are mostly spent on purchasing new movies and series. Watching movies has always been my source of inspiration and happiness whenever I feel down, I have seen quite a number of movies in the last two decades, and this is because I don’t take movies and korean dramas for granted, it is already a part of me…
All my life, I have always tried to stay away from movies that will make me shed tears or very emotional, I don’t like movies with more tragedy than comedy and romance, and this is because I am quite the emotional type of guy, I am an all-time lover of romance and love, but all these lasted for a couple of years…
Growing up with my siblings started changing my perspective on this emotional movies, I started watching it bit by bit until it stuck for a while, consciously and unconsciously I started watching all genres of movies until I found that perfect movie that made me cry and also thought me a lot of things about true love…
This particular movie is and was very popular those years, I never got the chance to watch it when it was newly released but after some years, I found myself watching it after so many talks and recommendations of it from friends…
This is a movie that portrays love and sacrifice, It was a 3 hours 14 minutes long movie, it was released in the year 1997, Let me play a quick game with you guys, in this particular movie, someone made this particular statement; "even God himself couldn't sink this ship, remember who and where it was said and you have the title of the movie that made me cry for the very first time…
I am sure some of my audience would have gotten what movie that statement came from and for those who don’t know where it came out from, the movie is non other than the famous TITANIC, the beautiful but sad story of JACK & ROSE…
I believe if Jack had not won the poker game with a ticket to board the titanic ship as stakes, he would have not died and would have never met Rose in the very first place, not to talk more of having those beautiful moments with her…
I had so many highlights in this movie, I started getting excited and more curious to see how the movie ended when the captain of the titanic ship said ”even God himself cannot sink this ship”, I was surprised and shocked at his speech, it felt like he was daring God with his words, and what happened at the end of the day? They got lost in their feast and merriment and forgot about the ship, which actually was the beginning of their downfall, hitting the iceberg was a very costly mistake…
How Jack and Rose came to love each other was my best highlight of the movie, despite their differences, Jack was just a commoner and an ordinary artist while Rose on the other hand was from a rich and affluent family, and was ready to be married off to a man she never loved...
Jack fell in love with Rose upon his first sighting of her, fortunately for him, fate brought her to his doorstep once again when she tried to kill herself and Jack was just around the corner to convince her not to jump, and this was the beginning of something great between jack and rose, but only for a short while...
My fears started from the moment the ship hit the ice berg, the bottom of the ship was scratched badly and water started flowing into the ship, it looked like a small incident to the passengers on board but everything started going wrong when the whole engine shut down...
I started getting emotional when Jack was arrested and taken to the last floor of the ship where the water had started entering from, before i knew it, rose was on her way to save him, the ship was already sinking from the head, and rose and jack were still stuck there...
By this time, the captains had already started taking the kids, their mothers and every females off the titanic into a small boat, the men were made to watch but they turned the whole thing upside down...
Jack and Rose were struggling to get to the top of the ship where they will be able to get on the boat, with so much difficulty Jack got Rose on the small boat but she came off it and ran back to Jack whom she loved and couldn't let go of, This is what love would do to a sane person...
I started getting teary and scared when the water infiltrated the cabin where rose and jack were, seeing them struggling to survive and move up made me scared...
In no time the ship broke into two and the remaining passengers on board fell into the cold sea near the ice berg, the captain and the violinist died doing their duties till the end, they played the violin with their last breath, a couple spent their last moments together at the bottom of the wrecking ship, a mother and her children gave up and spent their last moments together...
The whole passengers on board were crying and weeping bitterly, children were separated from their parents, Jack made sure he never let go of Rose till the end, the ship broke into halves and everyone started falling inside the cold water...
Rose and jack also fell into the water, some people escaped with the life jacket and boat but Rose and Jack managed to grab a broken door, but unfortunately for them, the door could only carry the weight of just one person. This was how Jack sacrificed himself to save the love of his life Rose, I started crying at this point...
I watched how life was slowly leaving Jack's body in the water, he made sure Rose was alive while he keeps her company in his last moment, the ship sank with a lot passengers but Jack was able to keep his woman alive till the end...
*Lives were lost in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, Jack knew he couldn't last long any more, he was starting to freeze in the water, and these were his last words to her;
Winning that ticket was the best thing that ever happened to me. It brought me to you. And I’m thankful, Rose. I’m thankful. You must do me this honor...promise me you will survive....that you will never give up...not matter what happens...no matter how hopeless...promise me now, and never let go of that promise…
You are going to get out of this, you are going to go on and you are going to make babies and watch them grow and you are going to die an old lady, warm in your bed, not here, not this night…
In summary, I watched how Jack fought for his love even at the point of death, he loved her enough to sacrifice his life for her, Rose was on the board while Jack was in the freezing water talking senses into her about never giving up, Tears kept on rolling down my cheek as Jack held on till the end, he never left her hands, Rose woke up and started calling out to Jack but he was frozen already, she fulfilled the promise she made to Jack and at the end, she took Jacks last name ”DALSON” and lived on…
In conclusion, Titanic is that perfect movie for me, it’s the best movie I watched those years, it showed me to what extent a true lover would go to for his or her partner, I love titanic for many reasons but Jack still remains the best reason, I love Jack and I also love TITANIC, it’s the very first movie that made me cry my eyes out, and it’s a great honor to watch this movie once again…

Fox you just reminded me of the one movie that got me teary for the first time.
The fact that they let Jack die in the movie was painful to me, I wish they had just did some tricks to say he actually survived but couldn't go see Rose until a long time after 🥲
It's a sad one indeed but I enjoyed every bit of it, it was dad's favourite movie back then hehe.

The first time I watched titanic, the scene where Jack died for Rose made me cry. For a whole week, I was still thinking about it. And did you know the saddest part ?. She later said she doesn't even have a picture of him. His picture was only in her memory.
Even till now, thinking about the Jack and Rose scene makes me emotional.

The love scenes and the imagination that it was happening made it look so like the real world. This was my first movie ever to watch when I was growing up and my sisters love it so much to an extent they shed tears too. That moment made me teary but how foolish we were back then...something that wasn't real! Lol
And yes...when we were also growing up, my sisters always went outside to buy Korean movies, and once it was finished they bought another.

I remember when I was very young I watched this movie with my family and could barely watch the scenes because my parents would just change the channel lol. I didn’t understand why Jack sacrificed himself but now I am grown up I can understand why he did it. I feel sad whenever I think of it also happy that how much he loved Rose.

I have watched this movie and i can epitomise review by saying that if we place whole movie on one side of balance and that last dialogue on other side….i am sure that dialogue will weigh more…that dialogue of rose was just mesmerising 🔥🔥and it literally was eye wetting
