A BARE CHRISTMAS…

The year will be coming to an end in a flash, and in a twinkle of an eye we will be ushering and welcoming the year 2025, i just hope the year 2025 will be much better than this year. This year came really prepared for each and everyone of us, the seges i faced was just too much but thank God for life. In as much as i hate to admit this, this year’s Christmas is just somehow, Christmas this year is not christmasing at all, and I don’t know if all this is because of our current leader or because of the general situation of my country, nothing is looking friendly right now. Everyone is managing their resources at this moment, I don’t even hear the sound of live chicken, not to talk more of seeing jollof rice and refreshments…

This is to tell you how everyone is managing their finances and resources at the moment. We have decided to cut our cloak to our respective sizes. I know some people out there will still end up paying debts after this festive period is over, that’s their own problem, and to my fellow brethren who have chosen to spend this festive season in the low-keyest way possible, congratulations to us in advance. Let’s just enjoy what we have and celebrate life in our own little way…

I remember by this time 12 years ago, doings were already going lowkey, smokes were everywhere, live chicken were disturbing the peace of the whole community, bags of rice were going out and coming in, and the funniest thing was that i was already testing different outfits for Christmas and New year, but for some years now both New year and Christmas have just been nothing more than ordinary days. Omo, i miss those days I would sleep laying beside my Christmas clothes and shoes, feels just like yesterday, ahaha…

The throwback was massive, this year really humbled many of us but then we will still eat plates of rice and some fried chicken, that one is a must, even if we don’t have plans of going anywhere special, the plan is to stay home and maybe visit one or two places to do “atenu”…

Now let’s head back into the questions asked in the prompt;

How is Christmas going for me so far?

Well, apart from the fact that I don’t plan on going anywhere special tomorrow, i think Christmas is just going to be simple and ordinary like a normal day. I don’t have any big plans made for Christmas, the plan is to wake up tomorrow, have my bathe and attend tomorrow’s morning service. The service will last for an hour or thereabout, after that i am heading home to enjoy my Netflix and probably with some refreshments to go with it…

This year came with a lot of bag and baggages, i won’t be celebrating Christmas in a grand way, i might not even celebrate it all, but then my budget right now is very tight, and I don’t plan on going to the extreme to make the day grand, after all Christmas is all about spreading love and having a great time with families, friends and loved ones…

In conclusion, tomorrow is going to be as simple as a normal day, after church i will be heading back home to rest, and probably enjoy some Netflix and refreshments. Compliments of the season to everyone out there, and to those who plan to celebrate the festive season in a grand way, please don’t forget to send us some plates of rice and chicken if possible…

How would this Christmas show in the air when Nigeria itself is not smiling? This season is just not worth it, as everywhere is as dry as ever. I'm having mine in a low-key.
