I've not had any experience with international clients as a graphics designer. But I can say testify to the local ones, some approach you as if they don't need your service but helping you; which is super annoying. Yes, you're right about the referral they do for you if you're good at your job.

I've heard coutless time that international clients always want to know everything about what you're doing for them and how you're going to do it.
