It would be difficult for me to say I want to be an influencer, especially being an introvert; one who doesn't like staying outside for long or having something to do in an open place. I am a shy person and there is a limit to what I can do in the public or offline world. I love my simple life where everything I want to do is always in silent mode with no hype or shouting.
An influencer has lots of followers and focuses on a specific niche, be it fashion, beauty, cooking, sports, relationships etc. Influencers hardly have time for themselves because they are always active on social media like Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, X, TikTok, WhatsApp, Reddit, Instagram and the list goes on. They make sure to always drop content (blogs or vlogs) consistently based on their niche because they know their followers are waiting for and expecting them to drop something for the day.
Being an influencer is demanding and I don't think it is something I would wake up one day to choose because I know myself. It takes consistency and going for quality content to become an influencer otherwise, you would surely be faced with criticism, hate-speech, online bullying, slander, etc from those against what you preach online. They just have to be active in listening to rants, positive and negative criticism etc.
I don't think these people ever rest because they are always moving from one content to another, replying to comments, finding good images and videos to post so they don't give what isn't. They go out all the time looking for real-life experiences to back up their claim and prove their work's authenticity. All these hardly make them have time for self-care because they are always busy satisfying their audience.
I, as a person, cannot put up with this lifestyle because it would require me to be active and consistent in posting on different platforms, monitoring the algorithm changes, making sure everything is working fine plus adjusting to new platform features. Though there is money in this kind of thing, the role is so demanding.
Also, being an influencer demands finding ways to stand out in crowded and competitive spaces. There are lots of influencers with the same niche here and there which makes it more competitive, and as an influencer, one has to be active everywhere, finding what works and making sure they deliver the best to their audiences. This is something I do not have the strength to do.
I cannot commit to something and give up along the way. I even read a user's post yesterday that he is already an influencer on Hive and does not need to be in another place. I agree with him because when we have to look at it, everyone on Hive is also an influencer in one way. With the number of followers one has, being consistent in posting daily, having the same user commenting on your posts etc. This shows how our influence has gone far on this blockchain as we have those who already added us to their favourites and are ready to open your post once you publish.
When it comes to managing other social media platforms, is so difficult for me because I can't imagine myself being everywhere. This would cause a whole lot on me especially finding it hard to balance my online and offline world including my mental health. I get drained easily.
Another thing that wouldn't make me consider becoming a social media influencer is the different lives they live. Except for the righteous ones who stick to their real lifestyle, others want to impress and fake everything about them just to be at the top. They use images that do not belong to them and post stuff different from who or what they are, all in the name of impressing and satisfying their audiences while neglecting their whole being.
It takes a whole lot to be a social media influencer and while I do enjoy most of the ones I am following on YouTube, X and some other places, I can't keep up with those ethics and values of becoming one.

Yes oo. Both the real and fake ones take up the job of an influencer. It's so demanding and it takes a whole lot to become one.
It's actually amazing how those influencers can all do their videos. I know for sure that they sweat blood just to complete it all. There are also good influencers out there but there are some too that, even though the words "influencers" already attached to their name, but they are doing the opposite of what a good influencer should be doing, there are some that spreading something that is really not worth spreading. They are influencing everyone with sh/t, you know, those kinds that only think about what they can earn. It doesn't matter if their vids are really spreading good vibes or knowledge. Anyways, same here, I can never be an influencer. There's just no way 😆😆😆
You are so right. Many people who call themselves influencers are doing the opposite of what is right and they mislead their audience with irrelevant stuff. There are the real good ones and I love their work and authenticity. It isn't easy but they keep going and enjoy their reward. But for me, I can't. I don't have the time 😄
Well said it's not easy to be influencer and it looks lots of hard work and smart work also. But some of them just posting ahit and play with the sentiment of people or I will say the use the emotions and sentiment of the other to make fame. Their are small number which comes under good catagory and big number belongs to useless catagory.
