I am not new to public transport anymore because it has been something I began with at an early age. Right from when I started junior school, I have been boarding public transport in Lagos state. If you are living in Lagos, you should know that for you to board public transport, you must be crazy like the bus conductors and drivers, otherwise, they will play smartness on you. There are times when you will forget your change and the conductor will not bother to remind you. On other days, you will be merged with another passenger when it comes to the issue of collecting change. Another day, it would be traffic where you are stuck in the middle of the road for hours. I had been stuck in traffic for over 3 hours before and that was three years ago. It was hell that day as I started perceiving different odours that even when I covered my nose, the smell was stronger. If you are too dull, you will be cheated. There was another time I boarded a public transport and while rushing to get down as the conductor was rushing me down quickly before the bus moved, I heard pimm and turned to see where the sound came from, my skirt had torn. I felt embarrassed that day as I couldn't go back home.
There are many memories that when I keep flashing back, I will just laugh and thank God. I have had scratches either on my hands or legs from entering public transport while rushing with others. I wished I could own a car at that spot. There was this memory I will never forget which is making me laugh while typing this. Narrating shortly!
There are some passengers you will meet that will make you enjoy your trip, whether the good ones, bad ones, funny ones etc. One thing about me is that I don't get scared when travelling as my mind would be at peace because I believe nothing is going to happen. When I board public transport, I will plug in my earpiece and start to listen to music without minding anyone but I used to reduce the volume because I know something funny must happen, no matter what.
While travelling last week to Ilorin where my aunt stays in preparation for my service, I boarded a bus with some local women who seemed not to be patient throughout the journey but I was entertained with laughter along with others who were interested in joining the club of laughters. It got to a point, where the driver was frustrated and didn't know if he should say he regretted picking those women and it wasn't like they paid the complete money. Lol. I could see these two women were scared because whenever a trailer passed by our bus, they would shout and tell the driver to stop for the trailer to go first. In my mind, I was laughing and was like, "if we should keep stopping for every trailer that passes us by or overtake us, when are we going to get to our destination?" 😆
It was so funny that I had to stop the music I was listening to while I kept eavesdropping on the women's conversation with each other about how they hated trailers. It got to a point, the driver stopped at a junction to pick more passengers. These women started shouting and screaming that we were in the middle of the road. They shouted at us to come down because there was a big trailer coming behind us. They began to scream at the driver and his conductor to hurry up because a trailer was coming. As the two women rushed out from the bus, a child of one of them fell in the mud and his clothes were stained. I couldn't stop laughing when she began to blame the small boy and slapped his back repeatedly. The poor boy cried. I was just laughing because I didn't even move an inch from where I sat including other passengers, except these two women as they were afraid of death.
The driver delayed us for like 10 minutes and we didn't see any sight of the trailer coming. The other passengers started talking badly and shouted at them to come inside. They were embarrassed when they didn't see any trailer coming but created an unnecessary tension on themselves. We moved and continued our journey, the driver was pissed at both of them and asked "Where is the trailer now?" The women couldn't say a word till they reached their destination. I pity the boy who was beaten because of their lack of patience. I just couldn't stop laughing because I was like, "Nobody wants to die but they keep complaining that this life is unfair" 🤣🤣 no one wants to die but it doesn't make sense to create an unnecessary scene that isn't worth it. Everyone desires to have a safe trip but confusing the driver is another mistake on its own. They really frustrated the driver that I had to pity him. Lol
Lagos is wild, I will keep saying it.
Especially that blue bus danfo , the drivers and the conductors can so wild just need to be smart
This day you skirt tore eiiiii you'd be so ashamed.
And this travel to ilorin, these women are they from the village lol
It's funny actually.
Hahaha. If you aren't wise in Lagos, these people will play smart one on you. Lagos is wild really.
I have travelled together with local women and men and they are always funny 😁 😂
Using public transport has its own advantages and disadvantages depending on situation and area. In a overpopulated country most of the time we can see the disadvantages and because of it everyone wants to own but very few are capable to buy a car and they are forced to use public transport.
Do you want people die for it 🤣🤣?

You are right. Many people wished they could own a car considering how unfairly and bad public transport is and how they mistreat people but not everyone would be capable of buying one.
😂😂😂
This got me😂
We complain a lot on this planet, blame everyone especially the government, rant on our sufferings and want to leave this Earth for good but when this death comes, we'll all run away😂
😂😂😂😂😂 Abi na. We are funny with such statement and that's the truth.
Those women must be from the innermost part of the village😂😂😂, they probably haven't entered many vehicles their while life.
😂😂😂 don't mind them. Any small thing, they start shouting. Shey others in the bus want to die too? Lol
Public transport let us enjoy people of every kind…it bothers us too but when we indulgr us to their situation we enjoy it and it’s my person Observation
Although possessing own car gives you comfort but public transport awards you with acquaintance
Yes, I love taking public transport because I would get to learn other people's way of life, enjoy the fun and keep observing.
Anything that involves public transport can be anything from bitter to sweet. The series of jesting and gusts you'll hear during a trip might not be anyone you'd hear from the news.😅😅
But in a case of troublesome people, you'd wish you had never left your house.
Hahaha. We will always meet with the troublesome ones but it ends up becoming fun. Lol
Yeah, those are memories that make up the days of men.. 😌
Lagos is a crazy city! I remember visiting around March this year and I was like “Kai people Dey try” because people were basically shouting to communicate.
As in. You cannot live in Lagos and not be crazy like a mad person😁🤣🤣🤣 Lagos is for the rugged ones and I salute those living there.
Honestly I don't think I can live in Lagos
Ahhh
Lagos is so stressful
I remember when I went to my aunt place and we went to the wedding of her husband brother,it was so stressful enh
We spent more than four hours in traffic.
Lagos is a crazy and stressful city. Everything done there involves being crazy a little 🤣

Conductors and drivers are so good in maths that even the most basic addition and subtraction will confuse you. When they rattle off their numbers, if you're not careful you'll be nodding your head like agama. By the time you realize your folly, they've gone and you're losing a huge chunk of change.
Being wise is a prerequisite for living in Lagos.😂😂😂
You will hear something like, "Do you have #300 and collect #650 and you will start calculating until you are confused 🤣🤣🤣 those people are something else entirely. You have to be smart to deal with them so you aren't tossed up and down like a coin. Lol
If you are living in Lagos, be ready to be smart and have a little touch of craziness 😂
Lol, chai Lagos and it's transport wahala. Those women are just too impulsive, if you had asked either one of rhem, she would have told you that she dreamt and saw a coffin in her dream that's why she's hysterical but at least you got to enjoy free comedy😋😁
🤣🤣🤣 you are right. You will start hearing "Blood of Jesus". They are just a different kind of comedian. But I did enjoy the trip.
😂😂 alright then, I can't help but laugh at this again
Really from what you described, public transport in the region where you live always has something new and something funny happening, this is good, because it distracts us a little from the problems of life we have. I wonder, sometimes it feels like we're in some comedy series, maybe someone is watching us and laughing at us hahaha.
Hahaha. You have given it a perfect description. Once you are in a public transport, you will forget your problem for a while because you will surely be entertained with funny jokes and comedies.
It's exactly that, a moment of joy in the middle of a crowded bus lol, we can always make something good out of something bad. 😂
😂😂 those people are wicked. They won't remind you if you don't remind them. Their prayer is for you not to ask. Lol
